Rosie's P.O.V
"Have you been here long?" I whispered quietly.
I couldn't talk much due to a burning sensation in my throat. The doctor says that my throat hurts because whilst I was having surgery they had a tube down my throat and that caused some irritation.
"Yeah." Luke smiled and his eyes shined.
"I'm sorry." I slowly apologized.
"Sorry about what?" Luke chuckled as if there was no reason for me to even apologize.
"For all this." I continued and I could feel tears starting to fill my eyes.
"Don't." he whispered in my ear.
Luke got up from his chair and gently sat on the bed with me. He lifted my head slowly and placed it on his chest. I was lying on his chest and I could hear his heart beat through his flannel shirt.
"Everything will be alright." he whispered as he stroked my hair.
For once I felt safe. I was lying on my best friend's chest and I could hear his heart beat whilst he would gently stroke my blonde hair.
"Thank you." I smiled slightly and looked up at Luke who was looking straight back at me.
"For what?" Luke asked with a puzzled expression on his cute face.
"For comforting me." I continued, tears starting to roll down my cheeks.
"Shh ..." Luke hushed and wiped away my tears with his fingers.
"Rest." Luke whispered and I closed my eyes. I could hear his heart beat and it was so comforting. Next thing I knew, the rhythm of his heart helped me fall asleep.
Luke's P.O.V
Rosie is fast asleep on my chest. I gently wrap my arms around her, protecting her from all her worries.
Suddenly, my phone started to vibrate and I reached for it. It was in the pocket of my black skinny jeans. I finally managed to take out the phone from my pocket without waking Rosie to find 2 new text messages. I pressed on the screen to reveal who sent me a message.
From: Calum Hood
Aye dude, the lads and I miss you.... Is everything okay? Haven't heard from you recently
I smile at my screen and quickly tap away on my screen to reply
To: Calum Hood
Hey man, sorry I left without notice its just my best friend needed me. She's been through a break up and now she's in the hospital so I'm stuck here :P
