Sara's P.O.V
"Babe, you need to relax." Chuck whispered in my ear as I stabbed the golden key into the lock, twisting it around to finally hear it click, signifying that I could officially run to my bed and lie under my duvets and fall asleep in order to forget about everything that occurred tonight.
"I need to tell Rosie. I can't keep this from her." I sighed at the thought of telling Rosie. Even though she doesn't admit it, she has strong feelings for Luke. They may have not been girlfriend/boyfriend but it's crystal clear that they have strong chemistry between them.
Rosie and Luke have been best friends ever since I have known Rosie. When I first met Rosie at high school she would hang out with Luke. It was just them living in their own little world, isolated from everyone around them. They were happy; they didn't need anyone else but each other. Rosie has always mentioned that Luke had been there during her parents' separation, he was the one who helped her through it, and he was always her shoulder to cry on, no matter what.
Rosie and I have also been best friends since forever but we never had the kind of friendship that she had with Luke. Of course we did the usual things that best friends do: sleepovers, gossiping, telling each other secrets, being there for each other in the darkest times, however, the relationship she had with Luke was different. It was powerful and it needed rescuing. I wasn't going to let some stupid hormones or stupid girl by the name of Serena ruin the chemistry they have.
"Are you sure she needs to know?" Chuck responded as he comfortingly massaged my shoulders with his strong hands.
"I can't hide this from her." I explained, shaking my head as I took out my phone from my rose-gold clutch to reveal several text messages from Rosie.
"I have to talk to her." I sighed as I walked away from Chuck and headed towards Rosie's room to find her door slightly opened. Slowly, I peeked through the door to find Calum absent while Rosie was covered in a bundle of her favorite fuzzy blankets.
"Rosie?" I whispered as I slightly pushed the door open to find Rosie uncovering herself from her blankets to face me. Her face seemed pale as if she had just seen a ghost. Her eyes were red and watering, it was obvious that she was crying.
"Sara?" Rosie responded, her voice trembling.
"I need to talk to you." I mumbled nervously as I slowly walked towards her bed and sat on the edge.
"Spill." Rosie demanded as she sat her weak body up in her bed.
"I went on a date with Chuck." I smiled slightly as the memory of the romantic date rushed back to my mind but my smile instantly disappeared as I remembered why I was even opening this conversation.
"I saw Luke and he was on a date." I explained and took her hand in mine, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"Sara, can I tell you a secret?" Rosie replied as tears filled her eyes.
"Of course." I beamed.
"I-I I love Luke." she blurted as her rosy tinted cheeks turned into a hot shade of red when suddenly, an innocent tear rolled down her eye and crept down to the corner of her lips.
"What about Calum?" I responded as I searched her grey eyes with mine, hoping that she would for once give me an honest reply.
"I love Calum but it's not the same. Luke is different. I don't know how to explain this feeling I have." Rosie whispered and bit her lip nervously to stop it from trembling.
"Try." I said as I caught her tears with my index finger before they reached her lips.
"He's the reason as to why butterflies flutter their wings in my stomach in frenzy. He makes me feel happy, he lights something inside me that I never knew existed ... I honestly can't explain it. But, all I know is that when I see him my head hurts, my heart races and every time he smiles I have trouble catching my breath. He makes me forget everything, he makes me feel relaxed ... safe. I wish I could just be beside him without all of these stupid complications." Rosie explained and I could tell she was being genuine because when she was trying to describe how she felt for Luke I could see her cheeks turned redder than red if that's even possible, I could see the corner of her lips rise upwards for the first time ever since she broke up with Alex and this time, the smile that formed on her face was real and it was all because of Luke.
