Rosie's P.O.V
It's feels like forever since Luke's been around. I guess he really meant it when he said he wanted to be alone. But where's Sara? She's been sleeping here but throughout the day she's been gone. Yes she does have work but it isn't shift work, she's had the same schedule for the past year. And when I called her boss, she said she hasn't been in. Something's up. But she can't be with....no...no he said he didn't like her like that. They aren't together, there's no way.
"Hey, like I'm really getting worried. Neither of them have been around for days. Has anyone tried to contact them via phone calls or texts?" Cal said to Ashton, Mikey and me.
I'm getting worried too, I thought. I mean really we've fought before, me and Sara. But never has it been for this long.
I watch Calum scratch his nose the way Luke use to. I never thought I'd miss something so little someone did. It's still so cute.
"Maybe we should call the police, put out like a missing person report." I suggested
"No, I think that's too extreme. Plus Luke doesn't live here, and Sara has been back every night. Luke's probably staying at a hotel or something, I mean where else would Sara go." Mikey said, scrolling vigerously through his phone.
"Yeah, plus do we really want to get the police involved. What if something happened and they blame us since we were the last to see them?" Ashton said.
"That's why I agree with Rosie. We should call the police. What if something did happen. I don't want to loose my best friend. And if something did happen then we'll be questioned as to why we didn't send out a missing person. Guys, what do we do?" Calum said his voice sounding hot and tears coming down his face.
He's right, Ashton and Mikey are right, everyone is right. But what can we do, what is there to do. I miss my two best friends.
Calum got up from sitting under me and walked over to the kitchen to grab a pop. I never really noticed how much he walked like Luke. The little things they do are identical. Am I missing Luke that much that Calum's practically turning into him?
"Look, I say we take today and drive around the city looking for them. At least we can cover some ground, take pictures of them and ask around see if anyone recognizes them." Calum said going for his car keys and gesturing for me to join him.
"Good idea, you and Rosie go together and me and Mikey can go together." Ashton said getting his own set of keys and heading towards the door.
"Alright you guys get the North part of the city, we'll get the South and say around 6? meet in the middle downtown?" Calum said.
"Sounds good." They replied in unisons.
We go into our cars and drive off. Should I tell Calum about Sara's hiding spot? Would she go there? She did make it back home later that night after the fight. She couldn't get there in time. Could she? It is 4 hours away.
"So you know Sara best where do you think she'd be, because I have no clue where the hell Luke could be." He said switching lanes.
"Well, whenever she got frustrated she drove to this like book store and coffee shop..." I started to say.
"Great, where is it she's probably there. I'm sure she could spend hours upon hours in a place like that." Calum said looking over at me at a red light and smiling. Even his smile reminds me of Luke. Damn.
"Well the thing is, it's four hours away. I mean do you really think she would drive there and back everyday?" I asked.
"What do we have to loose. Plus I like the idea of a mini road trip with you." He said as the light turned back to green and we pulled away onto the turn off to the highway.
I like Calum, a lot. Maybe even love him. But lately, it's like everything he does it just reminds me of Luke and what we had, or thought we had? I don't know I'm confused. I mean really they look nothing a like yet he reminds me so much of him. How do I cope with this. Do I like Calum, or...or...
"So, I wanted to ask you a question." Calum said.
"Yeah?"
"It's kind of a big one, I mean well yeah I guess. Anyways I'm getting away from it, did you...would you...do you wanna like get away for a while? Like next week? Like go on a vacation. Just you and me? Forget the drama that's been happening and just go. Somewhere, anywhere. I just want to be alone and enjoy each other." He said after he pulled over to the side of the word. Clearly this was gonna be a bit of a discussion he didn't want to be distracted from.
"Calum, are you sure? I mean we are young." I said.
I saw the happy from his eyes fly away and get replaced with a look of disappointment.
"I know, I just I want to like forget the problems we had you know. Just build our relationship without anyone to distract us you know?" He said the hope returning.
"Yeah, I mean if we find Sara and Luke then yes. But I won't be able to enjoy myself if we can't fine them." I lied, about wanting to go, not finding my two best friends.
Calum look ecstatic. He smiled the entire way to the coffee/book store. I really do like Calum, but maybe he was a rebound. I mean with Luke gone I've been thinking and I realized.
I miss him.
