More than Expected

Part 9

Kate loved Halloween. Every year Maddie's parents would be out of town the weekend before Halloween, so she always threw a party. Right now, they're at Lanie's "pre-gaming" (drinking before going out). Lanie is dressed as Lilo while Javi is in a Stitch onesie. Jenny is dressed as a slutty school girl while Kevin is in shorts, a white button down, suspenders, and fake glasses as a "nerd". Kate is in a black body suit with fishnet stockings and a police hat on while Rick has an orange jumpsuit on that's unbuttoned to expose his chest.
"We ready to go?" Lanie asks. They all nod and make their way to the party. Once they arrive, the party is in full swing. "Hey guys!" Maddie exclaims. She's dressed as a devil, "You all look great. Drinks are in the kitchen: beers in the colors, seltzers in the fridge, and the hard stuff is on the counter." She says. Rick clasps Kate's hand as they walk towards the kitchen, "What do you want?" He asks her, "Truly, please." She requests. He walks to the fridge and grabs the seltzered drink before handing it to her. He grabs himself a beer and they go to join their friends.
Kate tenses as Josh enters the party. Rick runs a hand over her back to soothe her and she smiles at him, "I won't let him near you." He whispers in her ear and it makes her blush. They both notice when Josh stares her down. Rick's hand travels to caress her ass. She turns to him, "You're being naughty." She teases him, "You gonna cuff me later?" He throws back at her, "Keep it up and find out." She tells him, "Hey! Horny and hornier, care to join the group?" Lanie asks sarcastically.
The couple rejoins the group. After a few drinks, they find themselves in the living room dancing with everyone else. "What do I gotta do to have you sway those hips against me?" She hears someone ask her. She turns and finds Josh standing there, "Fuck off, Josh." She tells him in a drunken slur, "Come on, baby, you never danced with me like that." Josh says. His hands go to land on her hips, but Rick's beat his to it. "Josh, leave her alone." Rick says as he pulls Kate to stand behind him.
"Why are you so protective of her? She spread her legs for you or something?" Josh asks. Rick pushes Josh back, "Rick!" Kate exclaims, "Stay away from her, Josh." Rick yells. "C'mon let's go." Kate says as she tugs on his arm. He doesn't move. "Rick, please, I wanna go home." She says. He sighs and turns to her before escorting her out of the house, "Rick, you can't do that. You can't just push people!" She yells at him, "After what he said about you? I think that gave me every right!" He yells back. Kate stumbles back, "I don't feel good." She says.
Rick helps her over to the lawn where she begins throwing up, "Let's get you home, baby." He tells her, "No! My parents can't see me like this." She argues, "I thought you said you told them that you're staying with Lanie? I'll take you to my place." He tells her. She nods as he begins walking them to his apartment. Thank God his mother isn't home. He helps Kate upstairs, "Okay, sit on the bed and don't move." He tells her, "Yes sir." She says with a giggle. Rick wets a washcloth in the bathroom.
He walks out to the bedroom and begins wiping the sweat and makeup off of her face, "What happened to the party?" She asks, "We're at my house, baby." He tells her, "Are we gonna have sex?" She mumbles. He chuckles, "No, honey, you're too drunk. You need to sleep." He tells her, "You know we're really good at it." She tells him. He smiles, "I know. C'mon let's get you changed." He says as he grabs an old t-shirt of his. He helps her strip before slipping the shirt over her head. He pulls his sheets and comforter back before helping her settle in his bed.
"Okay, stay here. I'm gonna go get you a water." He says and she nods as her eyes begin to close. Downstairs, he grabs a water bottle and brings up to her. He smiles as she takes a gulp. He undressed and slips on a pair of sweatpants, "You're so hot." She says. He laughs, "You're drunk." He tells her, "Doesn't make me wrong." She says. He climbs into bed and kisses her forehead, "Go to sleep." He tells her, "I love you." She says, "I love you too, baby." He wraps his arms tightly around her as they both drift off to sleep.

October 31, 2012
Wednesday night finds them in a similar situation, except Kate isn't drunk and they're cuddled up on her parents' couch. Rick is snuggled into the corner of the couch with his legs resting on the ottoman while Kate lays practically on top of him. They're currently watching the first Nightmare on Elm Street. Kate looks up at him, "Kiss?" She requests. He tears his eyes away from the screen and presses his lips to hers. "Another one." She requests. He smiles before kissing her again.
They hear footsteps come down the stairs, "Rick, Katie, you guys hungry? I was gonna make spaghetti." Johanna says. The teens agree and soon help Johanna set the table. Once dinner is ready, Rick and Kate sit side-by-side across from Jim and Johanna, "Rick, Katie says you're joining the Army after graduation?" Jim asks, "Yes sir. I meet with a recruiter in March to discuss different career paths and then I take the ASVAB later that month." Rick answers, "Whose gonna crash our Saturday night dinners?" Johanna jokes making them all laugh, "Hopefully he won't be gone much." Kate says.
"Well, you'll be busy with senior year, so even if I am gone it will make time go fast." Rick says as he soothingly rubs her back. She smiles at him. After dinner, Rick and Kate do dishes before finishing their movie. Two movies later, Johanna comes back downstairs, "Katie, time for Rick to go home. You two have school tomorrow." She says, "Thank you for having me, Mrs. Beckett." Rick says as he stands, "It's Johanna and you know you don't have to thank me." His girlfriend's mother says as she wraps him in a hug. Kate walks him out and they stand in a hug on her front porch for several minutes.
"I love you." He whispers in her ear, "I love you too." She smiles. She leans back and captures his lips in hers, "See you tomorrow?" She asks and he nods, "Sweet dreams." He tells her as he brushes a curl away from her face, "Text me when you get home." She instructs, "I will." He promises and kisses her cheek. She watches him leave with a sad heart. He waves and blows a kiss as he drives off. She turns and walks back inside before going upstairs and falling asleep.
