More than Expected

Part 47

"Katie! You ready to go?" Johanna yells. Kate tumbled down the stairs with her suitcase, "Ready as I'll ever be." She smiles. She then turns to her father and takes her son from him. "Be good for Pop, okay? I'll be home in a few days, Bubba. I love you." Kate whispers and kisses his forehead before holding him to her chest. "He'll be okay, Bug." Jim assures his daughter who nods, "I know. I'm just gonna miss him." She says and presses one final kiss to his cheek before passing him back to her dad.
Johanna drives her to the airport where Kate excitedly goes through security and makes it to her gate. Rick thinks she's in class for right now so there's no way he'll try to call her while she's in the air. Her first flight is from JFK to Charlotte where she has a two and a half hour layover before boarding an hour flight from Charlotte to Fayetteville. She ordered an Uber to pick her up from the airport and take her to the hotel that Rick was put up in since the barracks were filled and he couldn't get into an apartment.
"This is American Airlines Flight 5437 now boarding to Charlotte. We are now boarding all group 1 passengers." Kate looks at her ticket to see she's group 2. Once group 1 has boarded, Kate boards the plane. She texts her mom right before take off and smiles when she receives a picture of Royce back. The flight is a little over three hours. When she lands in Charlotte, she gets some lunch and walks around the airport until it's time to board her flight to Fayetteville and she feels the anticipation build in her stomach.
      When the plane finally lands, she grabs her bag and rushes out to the Uber. She gives him the name of the hotel Rick is staying at. "Hi. My name is Kate Beckett. My boyfriend, Richard Castle, is staying here. I'm here to surprise him. Could you tell me what his room number is, please?" She asks the front desk. They ask to see her ID to verify who she is before giving her his room number. She makes her way to the third floor and to his front door: 327. She knocks and feels the butterflies fill in her stomach.
     She hears his footsteps get closer and then he opens the door and his eyes widen. "Kate?" He asks. She can't even answer as he pulls her into his room and into his arms. "What are you doing here!?" He asks. She jumps up and wraps her legs around his waist. "I came to surprise you." She giggles. He rests her against the door and presses his lips to hers, "How long are you here for?" "Until Sunday." She smiles. He growls as he carries her over to the bed. "I hope you're craving room service cause I'm keeping you in this bed all night."
     She giggles as he pulls her shirt above her head and begins kissing down her neck, "Sounds good to me." She smiles and pulls him down to kiss his lips, "I love you so much." He whispers, "I love you too." She replies. They strip each other hastily and settle into a steady rhythm that they've both missed for the past three weeks. Once they've satisfied their desires for the moment, they lay naked and sweaty in each other's arms. "How's our boy?" Rick asks after kissing her neck. "He's so good. He's getting so big, Babe."
"God I miss him. I miss you both so much." "We miss you too. I show him your pictures everyday and he smiles." She tells him. "That makes me happy. I can't wait to have you guys down here with me." He says as his arm wraps around her back and pulls her closer to him. She kisses his forehead, "I can't wait for that either. For our little family to be together again." She says. "Now, as much as I love our little boy, I do miss my one-on-one time with his mama." Rick says as he pulls her down until she's underneath him and something tells her that most of their weekend will be spent in this bed.
