His mom walks me to the bathroom in silence. It feels somewhat icky but at the same time I wouldn't know what to say.
"Thank you.", she stops walking.
"What for?", I'm surprised.
"For making my son happy. I haven't seen him like this in a long time. Especially after what happened to his father, he worries too much. You really are something special."
"Oh, I don't know what to say. I'm trying my best to make your son happy, he really is someone I don't deserve.", I play around with my fingers again.
"Sweetie, don't say that. Emilio has told us much about you and there is not a single thing that makes you unworthy of my son. I can see it in your eyes, that you truly have a good heart.", she reaches for my hands.
"Thank you, Mrs. Romano.", I squeeze her hands.
"Mrs. Romano? Oh sweetie, we're a family now, I don't want to hear that ever again. Call me mom. Now go to the bathroom, I'll be in the kitchen. Emilio will come and get you as soon as you're done."
"Thank you.", I give her a soft smile.
"You're welcome."
She really is such an angel. I can see where Emilio's caring character came from. They're both very gentle people, so sweet and loving. I brush my teeth and wash my face, by the time I'm done and go out of the bathroom. Emilio already stands in front of it, waiting for me.
"Hey.", he leans in for a hug.
"Hi, what's wrong? You look tired.", I stroke his hair back.
"I'm a little scared to meet my dad.", he exhales.
"It'll be fine. C'mon let's have breakfast first.", I peck his lips.
When we arrive in the kitchen I see Elio and Renzo sitting at the isle, eating pancakes.
"Morning everyone.", Emilio says loudly, which makes them looking at us.
"Hey guys.", I shyly wave at them. I really don't know how to handle these two. I haven't met them often and if I did it was just briefly.
"Hey.", they don't pay me much attention.
I look at Emilio and he just shrugs, so I walk over to his mom and ask if there was anything I can help with, she declined and told Emilio to show me a little bit of the house.
"Are you sure she doesn't need my help?"
"She doesn't want it because we just landed. You can help her later. I suggest we have breakfast and then take a little nap. She told me that my dad was still sleeping anyways."
"Alright...is there something you want to tell me?", I hesitate.
"It's just...I'm so tired. I feel like there's no energy left within me. I already feel drained because of work and now being here doesn't feel as relieving as I thought.", he looks down.
"I think we should eat and then sleep a little.", I inhale.
"Emilio, look at me. It's gonna be fine. You have me, alright?", I give him a hug, I want him to know that he's not alone and that I, as his wife, will always support him. He's someone who always tries to take full responsibility, but he needs to share some things. It's tough to handle everything, when you do it alone.

We had breakfast and went to our room afterwards. Emilio fell asleep quickly, but I on the other hand couldn't get an ounce of sleep. I just kept thinking of how exhausted he looked, he can't seem to handle all of this. I wonder why he won't share it with me, maybe he thinks that it would be hard on me? These past few weeks he had been acting restless for some reason and when I was around he tried to brush it off, but I don't know how I can help him. I need him to rely on me.
