We've been in Italy for a week now. I feel so at ease here, I wish we could stay forever.

Aria took me into the nearest city to go shopping, just like she promised. And boy, does she love shopping. We spent an entire day trying outfits on. It was really fun though, I got to know the family a little bit more. She told me about how Emilio's childhood was and how she and Cassio got married, stuff like that.

"I'm so tired.", I lie down.

"My mom got you pretty good, huh?", Emilio is in the bathroom getting ready for bed.

"She did. I'm really not the right one to go shopping with all day."

"I get it. She can be pretty annoying when it comes to shopping.", he walks in with a smile on his face.

"Yea, but the good thing was that she talked, a lot.", I slightly chuckle.

"What'd she talk about?", he's picking something out of the closet and I say nothing.

"Oh no, Eliana, what did she say?", he turns towards me with huge eyes.

"Nothing... diaper-eater.", I burst out laughing.

When Emilio was two years old he always chewed on Elio's diapers. I can't even imagine. When I picture him doing that...it's just too much. Ah, my stomach hurts.

"Ugh, why did she tell you.", he whines, dropping his face onto my chest.

"C'mon it's funny.", I'm still laughing.

"It's really not. They've been calling me that ever since. It's so annoying. Please don't say that you're gonna call me that too?", he looks up with googly eyes.

"No, I don't want to torture my little diaper-eater.", I say in a voice that you always use with kids.

"Stop it, it's not funny.", he burries his head again.

And that went on until we eventually fell asleep.

The sun's too bright. I can't open my eyes.

When I got used to the morning sun, I see Emilio lying on top of me with his head resting on my chest. I go through his fluffy hair and watch his relaxed face. I can feel his heart beating and his breaths brushing my skin. I can see him letting his every day life behind and enjoying the time with his family. They had a lot to catch up on. I love watching them, being together, eating together, just fills my heart. Emilio is just like me, he would go through hell for his family.

He loves them more than life.

He went through a lot of pain as well, I can tell.

Sacrificing himself for the sake of others.

———

„Eliana?", he woke up.

„Good morning, diaper-eater."

He pulls the blanket over his head.
