"Kids go
Where there is
Excitement.
They stay
Where there is
Love."CHAPTER FIFTEEN.
The next day. 12:25p.m.I wipe my hands off on what used to be a cream colored cloth, but now is black. I pull the hood down and Wesley tosses me a cold water bottle.
"Thank you, Paisley."
I give him a small smile. "No problem."
He grins slightly. "Really, thank you. You're a good friend."
"You're welcome."
"How much?"
I brush my stray hairs that have fallen out of my bun. "What?"
"How much should I pay you?"
I wave my hands in front of me. "You don't have too."
He pulls his wallet out and rubs the back of his neck. "Oh, I don't really have very much money at the moment. But I'll pay you my next paycheck."
"Wesley, you don't need to do that. We're friends, I'm here to help."
"Yeah but you've helped a lot. I'm going to pay you."
"Please Wesley, really, you don't need to do that."
"You said you were going to head over to Teddy's?"
I nod. "Yup."
He pulls off his beanie and runs his pale fingers through his dark hair. "Can I at least drive you there? And buy you lunch?"
I throw the rag into the back of my car. "Sure."
*******
Wesley knocks on the door and a few moments later, Linda opens the big, olive green door. "Hey kiddos! Come on in."
We walk through the door and she closes it behind us. "We brought lunch." I tell her.
"You two didn't have to do that." She smiles.
"It was Wesley's doing."
She wraps her arms around Wesley and pulls him close before letting him go. "Thank you Wesley." She pauses, raking her fingers through her dirty blonde hair. "I have to go grocery shopping, would you mind staying with Hunter?"
I nod. "Sure! We wouldn't mind at all."
"Thank you, if you want anything from the fridge, please help yourselves. I shouldn't be gone too long, hopefully just an hour." She grabs her purse off the kitchen table and opens the front door. "If you need anything please call me."
"Will do Linda. See you in a bit." Wesley half smiles.
She smiles and waves at us before walking out. I glance around the house. "They have a really pretty home." I comment.
Wesley nods and opens the fridge, grabbing three water bottles. "Yeah they do. If you think this is nice, wait until you see Bryson's house."
