"If he truly loves you,
he will love you
when you are an ocean breeze,
but also
when you are a summer storm.
You were not made
to be loved in parts,
you were meant
to be loved as a whole."~ Nikita Gill
CHAPTER TWENTY~SIX.
A week later, 6:51a.m.I jog down the stairs and into the kitchen, grabbing a water bottle from the fridge. I pop two pieces of bread in the toaster and pull a stick of butter out of the fridge. I'm so happy that Tessa, Ryan, and the twins are out for the weekend. I still need to pack the last of my things for the cabin. The toaster beeps, I quickly butter the toast and plop it on a small plate. As I sit down at the table I hear a knock on the door. I grab a piece of toast off the plate and pull the door open.
"Greg? What are you doing here?" I ask.
"I haven't told Hunter yet."
I lean against the edge of the door, "Yeah, I know."
"I was planning on telling him today at Josie's Diner."
"No, you can't tell him today, tell him next week."
"Why?"
"Because we're going on a trip, I want him to have a good time. He's already been through a lot, he deserves a break. So... if you could please just hold it off till Tuesday?"
He shoves his hands into his jean pockets, taking a moment to respond. "Okay, I'll wait."
"Thanks, I appreciate it Greg."
"See you later Paisley."He jogs down the steps.
"Wait."
He turns around and looks at me, "Yes?"
I grin, "How's your nose?"
"Still broken." He walks over to his car and drives off.
I punched Greg in the face a few months ago, I thought his nose would have healed by now, I shrug it off, oh well.
I close the door behind me and wander back into the kitchen. I quickly finish my breakfast and wash my plate. I tug on my tank strap and walk into the hallway. I hear giggling and footsteps coming down the stairs; Kolby and Amie hop down the last step, both half naked.
"Have you ever heard of clothes?"
"Sorry, I didn't realize you came home last night." He grins and leans towards me, "What time did you get home exactly?"
"...Two in the morning."
"Ah," He smirks, holding back his laughter. "I wonder what you were doing. Or should I say who."
I slap his arm, "Shut up!"
He hisses and rubs his arm. "Chill, I'm kidding."
"Guys Bryson's coming over."
Their eyes widen, "When?" They say in unison.
"Any minute now." The doorbell rings, "Looks like he's here."
They trip and shove each other up the stairs, I reach for the door and pull it open.
