" If the sky that we look upon, Should tumble and fall, And the mountain should crumble to the sea, I won't cry, I won't cry, No I won't shed a tear, Just as long as you stand, stand by me."

CHAPTER TWO.
11:45a.m.

I grab my keys and rush out of the house before I could spot any one of my family members. I jog to my car and quickly lock the door as I get in. I soon see a face pop up beside my window. I gasp before rolling my window down. "Do you need something?"

Kolby scratches his bare chest and nods. "Yeah, I saw you had records. I have a record player and was wondering if I can listen to some of them?"

I furrow my eyebrows and start up my car. "Uh sure, if you break it your going to buy me a new one. I'm surprised you even bothered to ask."

"Hey, I'm not a complete jackass." He smirks deceivingly. "Sooo, where ya goin?"

I shrug and glare at him. "Why?"

He places his arms against the windowsill and pokes his head in the car. "Can I come with?"

"What if I said I was going to work?"

"Then I would say your lying. Look, I know Marty, your manager. I was with my dad when he got you the job, so I know what days you work. And since your living in my house I have the right to know where your going, and I'm thinking your going to the record store down town. As I was asking, can I come?"

I sigh, "Only if you put a shirt on."

He smiles and runs into the house, coming back out only seconds later with a black t-shirt on. I unlock the door as he hops in. I eye him when he doesn't put on his seat belt. "What?" He asks.

"Seat belt!" I irk, pointing out the obvious.

He rolls his eyes and pulls his seatbelt on. "Happy?"

I chuckle, "With you? Never." I pop on the radio and Twisted Sisters sings through the speakers. "What's the record store called?" I ask as I pull out of the driveway.

He types away at his phone before checking himself out in the rear view mirror. "Superfly Grooves Record Shop."

I nod. "Alrighty."

Five minutes later Starship booms through the speakers and Kolby bangs on his legs like he's playing the drums.

"You like Starships?"

He nods, "Hell yeah!"

"I thought your mom didn't like them."

He shrugs and starts to play air guitar. "She doesn't know I listen to them."

****

I quickly close and lock my car door. I grab the door to the record shop and Kolby pushes his way past me. "You're welcome." I murmur.
