CHAPTER NINE.

I hop out of Bryson's jeep and run up to Wesley with tears in my eyes. "H-how did this happen?"

He wraps his arms around me and hugs me tightly. "She was with her friends and they were taking her back home, and a drunk driver hit her side of the car."

Bryson wraps his arms around Wesley and I. "Did Teddy tell you this?"

He shakes his head. "No, it happened outside of my apartment. I heard someone screaming for help and it was Maggie."

"Have you heard from Teddy?" I ask.

"No, I haven't. I've called him a million times and I talked to his parents and they said they haven't seen him since he found out."

Five days later. 4:23p.m.

I jog up to Bryson and Wesley standing by Bryson's jeep. "Have either of you heard or seen Teddy yet? I just got off the phone with Linda, she's really worried."

Bryson and Wesley shake their heads. "No, we haven't." Bryson tells me.

"We've looked in all the places he would be, multiple times." Wesley informs me.

"Paisley!" I turn around and see Holly running up to us, wrapping her arms tightly around me.

I wrap my arms around her, giving her a tight squeeze before letting go. "Have you talked to what's her name... Teddy's ex?"

Wesley throws his cigarette on the ground, smashing it with his foot before picking it back up. "I didn't think of talking to her. He hasn't contacted Addison in almost four months." He turns to Bryson, "Have you talked to her?"

Bryson shakes his head and rubs the back of his neck. "No, I didn't think of it either. She works at Papa's Pizzeria now, we can head there and see if she's working." He suggests.

"Sounds like a start." We all quickly pile into his Jeep.

"How long did Teddy and Addison date?" I query.

Wesley glances at me from the passenger seat. "They started dating back in eighth grade, and she just broke up with him back in January."

"Why did they break up?" Holly asks, twirling her blonde, wavy hair around her tanish finger.

"He wouldn't tell us." Bryson tells us, glancing at me in the rear view mirror.

About five minutes later we arrive at the pizzeria. We walk through the single entrance and exit door, greeted by the loving smell of pizza and bread sticks. I wrinkle my nose at the smell. "Mmm, it smells really good in here."

Bryson nods. "Pops has the best pizza. Everyone calls him Papa or Pops. He's Josie's husband."

"Really? That's so cool. If she has good food, you know he does too."

He grins. "They have the best food in all of Windwood Falls. He's from Greece. Thats actually where they met, she was touring there and didn't know how to speak Greek, and he knew some English, he helped her out. They met in his parents restaurant."
