"She lost herself in the trees among the ever-changing leaves. She wept beneath the wild sky as stars told her stories of ancient times. The flowers grew towards her light, the river called her name at night. She could not live an ordinary life with the mysteries of the universe hidden in her eyes."

CHAPTER SIXTEEN.
6:00a.m.

My alarm blares in my ear. I squint at the blinding phone screen and shut the alarm off. I roll out of bed and mumble nonsense. I grab a pair of leggings, a white t-shirt and a red and black flannel. I quickly change into my outfit and pull on mismatched socks. I grab black ankle boots and pull them on. I sigh and jog down the stairs. I see that the bathroom door is open, that's a sign that no ones in there yet. I run towards the bathroom and peak inside. Kolby is shirtless with dark skinny jeans, dancing and watching himself in the mirror. I grin, "Hey, can I brush my hair and teeth? I'll be out of your hair in two minutes?"

He huffs and scoots aside. "Fine, but be quick."

"Thanks." I mumble. I quickly do what I need to and jog down the stairs. I grab a bowl and place it on the counter. I pull the box of cereal out and pour it into my bowl, I turn around and grab the milk out of the fridge.

Ryan grabs my bowl out of my hands. "This is mine."

I go to argue back but remember he's not like my chill, relaxed dad. "Okay."

He snickers and pours the milk into the bowl, sitting at the table. I grab a granola bar out of the pantry and toss it in my bag sneakily. I grab a mini cereal box and walk out the front door. Crap, I forgot my jacket. I reach for the knob but hear the lock click. "Ugh!" I hop into my car and set my bag in the passenger seat, pulling out my foundation and mascara.

Five minutes later, I finish doing my simple makeup look and drive towards the school. I pull into the student parking and lock my door. I walk through the giant glass doors and pull  my schedule out. My locker is 289 down C hall. Wherever the hell that is. I glance around the two story school and see four different hallways, theres probably even more hallways upstairs. I walk into the lunch room and see a couple of kids scattered here and there. I sit down at a table were no one else is sitting. I grab my small box of cereal and eat it slowly.

"Oh my God! You're SO pretty!" A girl with blonde wavy hair and glasses sits down next to me, smiling brightly.

I chuckle, "Oh, thanks... You are too."

"AWE! Thank you so much!" She chirps, smacking my arm. Causing me to spill some cereal, dang!

"... You're welcome." I give her a small polite smile.

"Do you play sports?" She inquires.

I shake my head. "I used too."

"Well! You should totally join the cheerleading squad! You have the perfect body for it!"

I lift a brow and stay silent for a moment. "Oh.... thats flattering but... I have a boyfriend."

She giggles. "Oh silly girl! I like boys."

I shake my head awkwardly. "Ooh... sorry?"

She tosses her blonde hair behind her shoulder and grabs at the bottom of her crop top, lifting it to show a little more skin than it was originally. "Don't worry about it! It's totally cool!"

She watches me as I eat my food. "Is there something you need or that I can help you with?" I ask.

"Oh yeah! My names Jessie!!" She exclaims. "Whats yours?"
