Reunion

I heard faint voices around me , from what I could hear it sounded like I was back in the hidden sand in a hospital . It was difficult for me to hear everything but from what I gathered,  I was both poisoned and heavily wounded on my back . Two voices were debating on what to do first , extract the poison or heal me . If the poison is extracted first then I will feel all the pain from my wound , if they heal the wound first then the poison could kill me . One sweet voice added " this wound won't heal instantly,  it needs several healing sessions . The poison will kill him by then !"

That voice , it sounds so familiar but at the same time so new to me . I found comfort in her confident tone , I couldn't move or say anything nor could I open my eyes . I was in a strange state of limbo within my own body .

I then felt odd mixture entering my body and exiting constantly,  each time it would exit , I would start feeling pain slowly as the numbness wore off . Instantly I grabbed onto the hospital bed sheets as the overwhelming pain from my wound spread throughout my nerves , I gripped the sheets as tightly as I could that my knuckles turned white .

The sweet voice called out " quickly , a sedative !" I felt the foreign needle enter my arm as I felt myself slowly drift back into slumber .

When I woke I was laying on my side facing a open window , I was wearing only my pants as there were several bandages wrapped around my torso and shoulder to accommodate the wound on my back . I still felt pain from my back but it wasn't as intense , I also felt a uncomfortable stiffness that really irritated me . Thankfully a calming breeze came through the window gently blowing on me , I sighed as I slowly sat up feeling my back muscles pull with every movement. 

" you're awake !" A sweet voice called our from behind me , it was the same sweet voice I felt comfort from before . I looked back to see someone I instantly recognized "Sakura ?" . Sakura was taller and even more beautiful than before , she kept her hair short and wore her signature red clothing but seeing how generous puberty was for her made me smile , especially seeing how happy she seemed .

Sakura quickly walked around the bed to stand infront of me " its been so long Sora , you look so different then you did back then " , I chuckled " I could say the same thing about you ". I heard a second pair of shoes enter the room " good . You are finally awake " the person walked around the bed and revealed herself to be Temari .  She crossed her arms with a smirk "we thought you were going to sleep through the celebration "

I was genuinely confused "Celebration?" , Temari nodded " Team Kakashi rescued Gaara and lady Chiho gave her life to save him so we are having a celebration today in Chiho's honor " . It took me a minute before I caught on " I slept throughout Garra's rescue ?"

Sakura gave a sympathetic smile as she walked around the bed and began undoing the bandages " its not like you could help it Sora , your back was badly wounded and needed time to heal " she took the last piece of bandages off " there is still some brusies even after 8 healing seasons , your back was a real mess . " she gently laid her hands on my back and began to heal the rest , I looked back at her in awe .

Once she finished , she noticed my gaze and blushed " why are you staring ?" , I chuckled lightly " sorry I'm just impressed . Sakura you are so cool " . Sakura's face went red as she playfully slapped my arm without saying anything . Temari chuckled as she handed me a plain black shirt " here , I'm sure you want to see Gaara before you go " .

I nodded "I almost forgot that I'll be returning home soon " , Sakura smiled " we are going to be heading back soon aswell , why don't we just journey together?" . I smiled " sounds like a plan " I put the shirt on and walked out the hospital with both Sakura and Temari . Almost immediately I was met with a crazy blonde rushing towards the hospital,  he saw me and smiled "Sora!" . Of course I recognized the blonde easily " Naruto , besides height, you haven't changed "

" looks like you are alright " Gaara spoke as he walked up to us , Kankuro beside him who smiled at me . I didn't say anything as I walked up to Gaara and embraced him , Gaara returned my hug with a annoyed groan but there was a hint of a smile on his face . I stepped back " next time you do that , I will put you in the grave myself " , Gaara nodded " I'll heed your warning old friend "

Of course it was a empty threat but who cares about such details .
