Thoughts

Shikamaru and I met up at the main gates as the other members of his squad arrived . The members included Naruto , Shino , Kiba , Neji and Choji . Lee was a candidate but after his test results it was confirmed that Lee wouldn't be able to fight again due to his fragile state , as we were finishing up our preparations and on the verge of leaving,  Sakura suddenly showed up . Her eyes watering as she looked at Naruto with desperation "please ...Naruto bring him back "

I can't explain it but the whole situation just made my stomach twist in the most uncomfortable way . Seeing Sakura cry and beg for Sasuke's return after she failed to convince him to stay , where he knocked her out in the middle of the night , in the streets , and left her unconscious alone .  I would go as far to say that there was a bitter taste in my mouth hearing those words from Sakura .

Naruto smiled " you can count on me !" I looked at Naruto with a subtle frown which Lady Tsunade seemed to have noticed , how can Naruto say something like that ? This mission has less than a 35% success rate because of Sasuke's body guards , it would be a miracle if we drag Sasuke back with us unscathed .

Lady Tsunade cleared her throat and extended her hand " Now ,as Fifth Hokage  I confirm the mission to capture Sasuke Uchiha and return him to the hidden leaf village !"

After those words we all rushed into the woods , my mind was plagued with flashbacks of Sakura . Shikamaru looked back at me " hey ! Get your head into order !" , I looked at Shikamaru and nodded .  I had to force myself to ignore the biggest thing that bothered me and focus on the mission to retrieve Sasuke . But I couldn't help but wonder , if we did succeed and drag Sasuke back . How would that go ?

Sasuke obviously doesn't want to be in the village anymore , nor does he want to be in his genin team . There must be something better for him in his opinion out there , maybe knowledge or power , perhaps both .But one thing is for certain , Sasuke was willing to give it all up otherwise he wouldn't risk becoming a rogue for something mediocre .

How would his attitude be to the village and more importantly his teammates , he would hold a grudge against them for dragging him back , whether he will make their lives hell or he will sabotage the teams efforts to make it obvious that he should work alone .

As we moved we began to see silhouettes ahead of us , it was time for action . Shikamaru looked back at me " Sora , you know what to do . I need you to be as discreet as possible "

I looked at Shikamaru and nodded " don't go dying on me . You are like my best bud " , Shikamaru chuckled " same here " . As Shikamaru planned , I broke off from the group and traveled across the forest using a shortcut to catch up to Sasuke quicker . If I am able to use my mind transfer jutsu on Sasuke's carrier or even Sasuke himself , this mission would be in the bag . But this plan also has a large risk , my own body , if it is left unattended I could die .

This was of course only speculation but it was a good thing to just cut across the forest and stop them before they reach the large field before the great shinobi statues . Obviously it would seem smarter if we all used the short cut however , the shortcut has a very narrow and difficult path . Choji , Shino , Kiba and even Naruto would struggle  with that type of path . I'm more of a petite build with tighter clothing so I could fit through the path without difficulty,  being small has its advantages...I just hope when I grow up I'm not this small anymore  .
