Life changing decision

After Naruto had his heart to heart , everything seemed to be hopeful but something was off , immediately after team 7 defeated Kaguya , we haven't succeeded yet . Those who were caught in the genjutsu were still under its influence,  I made my way to my mother who was thankfully safe . I explained everything that happened but she expressed the same anxiety  about the situation . We met up with team 7 , Kakashi pulled my mom one side to talk about possible solutions but it was quite clear it was time to fix the situation,  however sasuke had different plans . He suddenly sealed all the tailed beasts and  looked at Naruto " I will release the genjutsu and the beasts .....after we fight.  Its time to settle it "

Naruto frowned " you cant be serious? You will willingly keep all our friends in the jutsu just for old grudges ?!"

Sasuke ignored Naruto and walked , Sakura stood up and yelled at him " Sasuke , let them go.  You're the only one who can !"

"Sakura , you've always been so annoying " Sasuke spat coldly that caused Sakura to freeze up as her eyes widened,  she honestly thought things had become better.  The hair on my neck rised , Sasuke was going to do something to Sakura and I could sense it. 

I immediately ran over to the pair , in a split second Sasuke used his rinnegan to move closer to Sakura and try to jab his arm into her , Thankfulky I wasnt to far at this point and flew forward , just barley covering all of Sakura with my wings when he made his attack.  His fist landed heavily against my wings , I didnt have time to harden them when I moved so my wings took the brunt of the hit , it broke the one wing , shattering it but the other held strong. 

Sakura stood in utter shock , I glared at Sasuke even though I wanted to cry out in pain , the wings might be a chakra manifestation but they have nerves and pain sensors like actual wings.  Sasuke scoffed and pulled his arm back , he looked back at Naruto before suddenly leaving. 

Naruto persued him out the valley , my wings fell as I dropped to my knees and cleanched my eyes tight , that attack hurt . Like having you're arm , shoulder and rib being torn out of your body . My mtoher immediately rushed over and attempted to comfort me , she slowly placed her hand on my shoulder but I immediately flinched and hissed at the pain .

Kakashi ran over and crouched beside us , he's voice almost shakey " what happened?"

My mom looked at me sympathetically " his wing shattered ...its not something that can be easily broken...or repaired "

Sakura woke from her frozen state and whipped around to face us , she immediately moved behind me and tried using her healing justu to ease the pain . It felt like I had limited breathing room,  every inhale hurt . Sakura remorsefully whispered " Im sorry , I can only ease the pain..."

I looked back at her and forced a smile " It was worth it " , My mom frowned as she glared down at the dirt , she wouldn't say it but she was mad that I took a risk that inevitably ruined my wings forever .

Sakura sat beside me and held my face in her hands " dont ever do that again . Please " , her face was twisted in pure fear and her face was pale . I nodded softly before we rested our foreheads together , a sudden gust of wind rushed through us . Kakashi stood and gazed out into the distance " I need to stop them "

Sakura stood " let me come with you"

Kakashi frowned " Sakura..."

Sakura put on her bravest face " I will be ready this time " , she looked down at me and gave a soft smile " I wont waste Sora's sacrifice "

Kakashi sighed " alright , come on "

Sakura nodded andplaced a soft kiss on my forehead before she rushed off with Kakashi to the fight location . My mom shook her head at me " If you weren't in so much pain , I would beat you down myself.  That was stupid of you !"

I sighed , flinching alittle , my right side extremely sensitive and sore " I know .. I didnt realise how powerful Sasuke's strike would be ."

"Its not just that ! ..Sora you cant repair a shattered wing ...ever ....from now on , you will only have one wing . Your abilities are litrally cut in half !!"

I began to feel light headed , my body was demanding rest and I didnt have the energy to fight the tiredness off , I slowly laid down on my left side " Im just going to take a nap...while you yell at me some more "

My mom sighed as she looked down at me , my consciousness slowly fading looking up at her bittersweet smile .
