Follow the spy

We stood on the damaged bridge having a discussion about our next move when a shock wave made its way through the area , the wind was so strong that it felt like sandpaper against the skin ,the wind was also hot like the red chakra that surrounded Naruto .

My mother frowned and looked around before frowning towards the forest ahead " Sora , I need you to find Sai and follow him " , this statement made Sakura's head snap towards my mother " why ? Sai is our teammate "

My mother frowned " When you went unconscious and fell off the bridge , Sai fell too . Instead of rescuing you , his 'teammate' , he flew right by you to follow Naruto . I've had my suspensions about him from the start , but those actions made the suspension stronger . "  I looked at my mother and nodded , agreeing with her . I glanced at Sakura who seemed hurt by my mother's statement,  maybe she had hoped that Sai wasn't a bad guy . Maybe she just wanted a complete team like when we were trainees at the academy , I understood her feelings about this but I couldn't ignore my own . Sai wasn't a person that could be trusted , he carries to much secrets behind that fake smile.

Without another word , I made my way to the forest,  slowly looking around for Sai . I was lucky enough to spot him hiding against a tree watching the battle between Naruto and Orochimaru . I frowned and hid behind a tree watching him , he was so engulfed by the battle before him that he didn't notice me yet . Suddenly Naruto swallowed a large collection of chakra and shot it right at Orochimaru,  Orochimaru quickly summoned three large gates to defend himself but the explosion was massive with a intense bright light .

Once the smoke cleared , the gates were gone and Orochimaru was face deep in the ground . It seemed like Naruto was cooling down after that large attack , Orochimaru's head suddenly shot out from the dirt a few feet from Naruto with a snake coming out his mouth and out of the snake's mouth was a extremely long sword . The sword made contact with Naruto's chest but it didn't pierce his flesh , instead it pushed Naruto all the way back to the bridge where everyone else was .

Sai didn't rush back to the bridge to observe more of the battle but stayed where he was , watching Orochimaru . My eyes narrowed as I realized that Naruto wasn't Sai's priority but Orochimaru was . Maybe to kill Orochimaru or to speak with him , I wasn't sure which yet .

As I stepped forward,  Captain Yamato's clone landed beside me " Sora , I need you to return to the bridge "

I frowned " I don't understand,  wasn't I supposed to watch Sai ?" , Yamato nodded " that was the assignment you were given at the time but your mother needs your assistance with Naruto . I will follow Sai from here " . I glanced at Sai who was still talking with Orochimaru before looking back at Yamato , without a word I made my way back to the bridge to find Naruto fighting with himself,  wood panels surrounding him . My mom was flying with her wings , frowning at the scene before her with a clenched jaw . My two teammates were standing nearby motionless and Sakura was on the ground watching Naruto in shock , three deep claw marks on her arm .

Seeing her hurt suddenly made my blood boil , I took three deep breathes to calm myself as I entered the scene , my mother noticed me first " Sora !  I need your help . Use the feathers on his Chakra points "

My mother prepared her wings and shot a few feathers towards his Chakra points but only a few landed on target while the rest were dodged , I immediately followed her example and shot several feathers towards his Chakra points that she had missed . Thankfully most hit on the spot causing Naruto to drop like a sack of potatoes,  my mother landed and sighed " finally..." , I landed and ran to Sakura , helping her up from the ground while looking at her arm " are you okay ?"

Sakura looked directly at me , it took me a few seconds to realize we were nose to nose....
