You had a nightmare.
Your eyes suddenly opened; you sat up; you were breathing heavily. You felt a sick feeling rise in your stomach. Seconds later, you were throwing up.
It spilled out in front of you, staining the bed sheets. You tried to lean over to the side of the bed, hoping to get it on the floor rather than yourself. The movement made you dizzy, so you sat straight again.
Half a minute later, you stopped throwing up. You quickly scanned the room. It was dark. It was empty. No one was there.
You were alone.
You were scared. You wanted your brother. You really wanted to go and find him but you had no idea how. You didn't know your way around the compound. You knew that if you got out of bed, you'd probably just get lost, which would freak you out even more.
You really wished Bucky was there.
You were temporarily distracted from your thoughts as you vomited again. You started crying. It soon passed again but the taste was still lingering in your mouth. You had no water, and you knew no way of getting it.
With tears falling from your eyes, you impatiently waited for the vomiting to stop long enough for you to fall back asleep.

Bucky ran into Bruce on his way to go and see you in the morning.
"Hey Banner. You on your way to check on y/n?"
"Yeah."
"Same."
"What do you mean? Didn't you stay with her last night?"
"I was meant to, but last night I went to Nat's room. I was only supposed to stay for a little while, but we ended up falling asleep."
"Oh, okay."
They got to the compound med-bay. When they walked in, Bruce immediately noticed the state you were in and ran over. As did Bucky.
"Shit" Bruce muttered.
"Oh my god, what happened?"
There was vomit all over the bed. It was dripping onto the floor, and a little puddle had formed. Your mouth was hanging open. The sick was on your lip and a little had dribbled down onto your chin.
"Did she throw up in her sleep?" Bucky questioned.
"I don't know, we need to wake her up."
Bucky stood by your side and tried to gently shake you awake. You stirred in your sleep.
Then you were suddenly startled awake, opening your fearful eyes wide and flinching away from Bucky.
"Y/n, it's me, it's okay" he said softly, squeezing your hand comfortingly.
You took deep breaths to calm down. You gulped nervously. That's when you tasted it. You quickly covered your mouth with your hand.
You started crying.
"Oh, y/n" Bucky sighed regretfully. He knew he shouldn't have left you. He sat down on the edge of the bed and turned to face you. "What happened?"
You slowly turned your head side to side as you lowered your hand from your mouth, revealing your bottom lip wobbling.
"It's okay" Bucky held the side of your head, holding you still.
"It's not okay" you returned, your voice breaking as you spoke. "You left me."
"I'm so sorry, y/n..."
"I needed you... and you weren't there..."
"I know. I should've been here. I'm so sorry. I didn't know this was going to happen. I thought you were fine-"
