The guys returned the next day to finish the apartment as Bucky had forgotten to mention that you wanted the pair of you to do it together. Natasha came with them so that she could see Bucky.

When they arrived at the apartment, Bucky told them to keep their voices down as they filed in because you were still asleep on his bed. They started working on emptying the bathroom cabinets, making sure to be as quiet as they could. They finished moving the furniture out of your room, but Bucky told them not to take the decorations down from your walls because he wanted something for you to do.

"Is she still not awake?" Steve asked, looking through the slightly open door into Bucky's room.

"Come on, it's y/n. She'll sleep all day."

"I don't know" Steve sounded unconvinced. He gave Bucky a look before entering the room. Bucky curiously followed. They both looked down at the bed; you were completely covered by the duvet.

"You don't think she's asleep?" Bucky whispered.

"So I'm thinking" Steve spoke loudly. "We just pick up the mattress and carry it to the car, and hope she doesn't fall off."

Bucky amusedly shook his head and decided to join in. "Yeah, that could work. But instead of carrying it down the stairs, how about we push it... then hope she doesn't fall off."

The lump under the duvet shifted slightly, but it was barely a movement. Steve approached the bed. "Okay, ready?"

Bucky didn't respond as he was confused about what Steve was going to do. He couldn't seriously be about to lift the mattress with you on top of it. Bucky watched in silence to see what was about to happen. Steve leant over the bed: one hand reaching for the further side of the duvet while the other slowly held the side closest to him.

He suddenly wrapped his arms around you, still holding onto the duvet so you were trapped inside. You screamed and squirmed and struggled in his grasp.

"Steve, let me go!" you squealed with laughter. "Put me down! No!"

Steve laughed and collapsed on the bed, pulling you down on top of him. He let go and you rolled out of the duvet. You had a large grin on your face, despite how much you were trying to hide it.

"Good morning trouble" Steve smiled.

"And just how long have you been awake?" Bucky asked as he sat down on the other side of you.

"Uh, well, I only just woke up."

"Bullshit."

"No. In fact, I'm not even fully awake yet. I need some more time" you said, laying back on the duvet. Bucky and Steve each grabbed one of your arms and pulled you to sit up again. You groaned at them as they did so, then stood up on your own. They started following you out the room, but you paused in the doorway, facing the living room. Your eyes fell to the floor, where your blood was still painted like an ugly carpet.

"Hey y/n."

You looked up and forced a smile. "Hey Nat. Hi guys" you greeted everyone. You carried on walking across the lounge to the door of your own room. You entered, but you were only gone a second as you came straight back out.

"You said you and I were gonna do it together!" you whined towards Bucky. "There's nothing in there!"

"There's the pictures on the walls... and your fairy lights need to come down... right?" Bucky asked Steve, who nodded in confirmation.

"That's gonna take like two minutes and I can do it myself! Bucky, you did it without me!"

"Okay, a, I didn't. They did" he gestured to the others in the room. "And b, you should've woken up earlier so you could help."
