It's the crack of dawn when my alarm starts blaring in my ear. My eyes sting and I have a hard time rolling out of bed. I woke up earlier than my usual time for school since today I have much to do. Soon It'll be time to bubble-wrap Billy's car. This could go either incredibly right or incredibly wrong. It was time we took our chances though.
I take a look at my bag, which is propped up against the foot of my bed. Last night, I packed it with my bathing suit, snacks, blankets, games, and other items. Today promises to be a lot of fun, and I'm really looking forward to it. I loaded everything we bought from the store into my car and Max put her stuff in as well as Billy's. How she managed to go through his room without being killed? Not sure about that one. I got gas yesterday before I dropped Max off and everything is ready...except me.
I daze into my closet and stare at the clothes for a good minute or two. It started off with wondering what to wear to why I exist, but I got a job to do. I snap back to my main objective: getting dressed.
I put on gray shorts and a dark red tank top. I grab my leather jacket off of the hanger and put it on my bed for me to grab before I head out. I go into the bathroom and do my hair and take care of my basic hygiene.I hear my perfume sprit as I put it on my wrists and neck. I throw it into the bag in case I sweat as well as my deodorant and slip on my black Chuck Taylors. It's game time.
I walk downstairs with my jacket and bag and see my mother asleep on the couch. She worked a late shift last night. I guess she didn't make it to bed. I laugh under my breath and take my keys and head out to the car. I see Max walk from behind her house and toward me. It's time to bubble wrap his car.
"You ready?" she laughs.
"More than ever," I grin.
"These are dangerous waters we're testing."
"Yes. Yes, it is," I laugh.
I open my trunk to reveal the rolls of bubble wrap. I glance at Max and she meets my gaze. We both nod and get to work.
___
"Aaand done," I sigh.
I step back to see the beautiful blue Camaro now wrapped in bubble wrap.
"Just in time. Billy's alarm goes off in 5 minutes," she informs.
I nod and I sit on the sidewalk, Max following after.
"You think this will go wrong?" she asks.
"Eh, I'll make him get in this car. There's no way I just got up at the ass crack of dawn just for him not to get in my car," I laugh.
She laughs along with me and we talk about school, boys, and even do a quick round of would you rather.
"Would you rather have telekinesis or telepathy?" I ask Max.
"Oh good question..." she goes deep into thought. "Telekinesis. I was leaning toward telepathy but then realized I never want to read men's thoughts."
"You're right on that-"
"What the fuck!" I hear a rather angry voice behind us.
Max and I turn around to see Billy with his jaw dropped open and hands held out toward his car. He slowly meets Max and I's gaze and we can't help but burst out laughing.
"What's so funny?" Billy says, obviously trying to keep his cool.
"What's funny is, you're acting like you give a damn about school," I grin.
"Y/N, Max, I'm about to whoop your asses," Billy says.
"Good luck with that brother," Max smirks.
"We're taking you to school today," I inform him.
