I hear Mike yelling, and Nancy, Jonathan, and I come running back.
"What is it?" Nancy asks.
"I- I- Dustin was on the line. Dustin!" Mike says.
"El, can you find him?" I ask.
She nods, and I hand her a blindfold. She sits in front of the freezers because they make a low buzzing sound. Lucas opens his soda, and it catches everyone's attention.
"Quiet," Max says.
"Oh, sorry," Lucas apologizes.
Mike looks up at him with disgust, and I know this is going to turn into a debate. I roll my eyes and sigh.
"How do you even drink that?" Mike asks.
There it is.
"Because it's delicious," Lucas answers.
"What?" Mike and Max gasp.
"It's like Carpenter's The Thing. The original is a classic, no question about it. But the remake..." he trails off, taking a sip of his Coke with his pinky up.
He lets out a satisfied sigh and smacks his lips together.
"Sweeter, bolder, better," Lucas smiles.
"You're insane," Mike scoffs.
"So, you prefer the original Thing?" Lucas asks.
"What? No, I'm not talking about The Thing, I'm talking about New Coke," Mike states.
"It's the same concept, dude," Lucas sighs.
"Uh, actually, it's not the same concept."
"It is the same concept."
"No, it's not."
"Yes, it is," Lucas says in a louder tone.
El takes off her blindfold, irritated, and looks at them.
"Hey," El says, annoyed.
"Sorry," Mike apologizes.
"Sorry," Lucas repeats.
"Did you... find him?" Mike asks.
El sighs.

"The movies? Dustin's so freaked out about the gate he decides to go watch a movie. Yeah, makes total sense," Lucas scoffs.
"You're positive he said 'gate' not 'great'?" Max asks.
"Yeah, like this movie I'm watching is great," Will reasons.
"Sounded like gate," El says.
"Which would explain why the Mind Flayer is still alive," Mike agrees.
"We just have to shut it again," I say.
"And the monster dies," Will adds.
"But if not, we always have Lucas's fireworks," Max says sarcastically as we walk out of the store.
"Keep mocking my plan, Max. Keep mocking it," Lucas hisses. "I wanna hear you say it again because you keep doubting me."
"Ridiculous," Max says.

We make our way to the center of Starcourt. When we reach it we see guys with guns walking toward a certain car. Dustin.
El uses her powers to set the alarm off, and the guys turn and walk slowly toward it. The man speaks something in Russian, and then they look up to see us. I smirk and wave. El sends the car flying toward them. It knocks them back in different directions, killing them.
