The sun beamed brightly through the gap in the maroon, velvet curtains, painting a slither of light across Vulpecula's sleeping face. Her eyelids rested closed and her mouth slightly open, she was breathing softly.

It was Saturday so she needn't get up or rush to any class. The term was ending soon and summer was rolling in, the atmosphere in the castle didn't reflect it unfortunately.

Vulpecula had distanced herself from everyone, including her friends. She'd grown tired off all the talk that surrounded her name so she would do everything in her power to avoid people where possible.

Of course it was difficult to avoid everyone completely considering she shares a dorm with Hermione, classes with Hermione, Harry, Ron and Blaise, she'd see people at meals and in the common room in passing.

The early June morning woke Vulpecula from her calm sleep. She enjoyed and savoured the feeling of waking up refreshed, it seemed to be happening less and less often.

She sat herself on the edge of her bed and found that she was alone in the dormitory. She assumed people were outside enjoying the weekend. She opened her bedside-table's drawer and pulled out the diary she had bought from a trip to Hogsmeade a few months ago.

It had many pages of parchment bound together in a dark green leather that she loved the smell of. She ran her fingers over the cover and down the spine. Opening it up to the next free page, she began to write.

3rd June 1994
I woke up okay today. I cherish the days I don't feel like I want to cave in on myself.

She shut the diary with a snap and threw it back into the drawer. She lifted herself off of the bed and walked into the bathroom to get cleaned up for the day.

After getting dressed into a pair of dark blue jeans and a green and brown striped t-shirt, Vulpecula shoved her feet into an old pair of trainers. She grabbed her current read 'persuasion' along a few bits and pieces such as a quill and ink, her pocket watch, a half empty bottle of fire-whiskey and her wand. She put everything into her satchel and made her way out of the dormitory.

Vulpecula's feet took her to the Black Lake. She hadn't been able to get away in a while and she missed the peace. She sat down near the bank, on the grass, and pulled out her book and the bottle.

The birds twittered songs above her and the light breeze blew through the leaves in the trees and her hair on her head. The trees had regrown their leaves greener than ever, and as they played in the wind it was almost as if they, like the birds, were singing their own melodies.

After reading for a while in the serene landscape, Vulpecula put her book away and pulled out her pocket watch. The time was three twenty two in the afternoon. She figured she could try and find Hermione. She loved to be alone, but after a while she got too lonely to bare.

After standing to her feet and pulling the satchel onto her shoulder, Vulpecula made her way back to the castle. The sun was shining down on the brown exterior of the ancient building making it look golden. She was soon consumed by the shade of the towering building.

Theodore had just climbed the stairwell that led to the Slytherin dormitories and began walking through the warm stone corridors. Blaise had gone to Hogsmeade with Pansy, the two had recently started to talk more often, so he was left to his own devices for the day.

That was until a voice that was painfully familiar called his name.

"Theodore?" He turned round to find Vulpecula walking into the corridor from the courtyard.
