The chilly February breeze caressed Vulpecula's frozen face as she sat atop the astronomy tower, looking out over the Black Lake. The sun was setting and she was supposed to be finding Harry to help him decipher the clue for the second task that was mere hours away. She'd been at the tower almost all day since everyone was at Hogsmeade or elsewhere, so she had the chance to be uninterrupted while she thought.
She hadn't spoken to Theodore since the night of the Yule Ball. She wondered if he knew he was right, she wouldn't tell him that because it would mean embarrassing herself and that she was wrong, which she hated admitting.
She hadn't heard from Elliot either, she saw him occasionally in the Great Hall at meals but other than that she was thankful she didn't see him. How could she be so wrong about someone. She barely knew him and although she didn't assume she knew everything, her usual skeptics about new people had completely disappeared.
She was glad it happened though, because now she knew and it brought back her true self, untrusting of new and uncertain people.
Blaise had asked Pansy to be his girlfriend on the night of the ball, she said yes and since then the two were practically inseparable. What Vulpecula was happy to see was that Blaise still made the time for her and didn't completely ditch her after getting into a relationship.
Hermione and Ron went a few days without talking but their spats never last long, Vulpecula was relieved to see her friends being a comforting constant in her life.
She took in a last deep breath of cold air and stood up. Making her way down the tower and through the darkening corridors of the castle, she lazily strolled to the library.
Her journey was obstructed, however, by a face she didn't appreciate seeing. Elliot was walking with a fellow Ravenclaw in her direction. She was unsure if he'd seen her at first but when the two stopped and malicious grins formed on their faces, her question was answered.
Vulpecula attempted to carry on her ways without getting caught up in anything, but she was never that lucky. Elliot slid in front of her and every step she took in efforts to move around the boy, he followed, obstructing her path.
"Can you move? I have somewhere to be." She stated plainly, looking him in the eyes.
"What's the magic word?"
"Fuck off."
Elliot tutted and shook his head "Incorrect, princess."
Theodore had just entered the castle after smoking in the courtyard. His face was cold and his nose and cheeks were a blushed pink. He'd climbed a set of stairs and as he approached a corner he head familiar voices. The boy stopped his footsteps and slowly crept closer to hear better, remaining concealed.
"What's your problem, just leave me alone."
Elliot fake pouted and laughed. Theodore's skin crawled at the sound of his chuckle. He looked cautiously round the corner to find Vulpecula faced away from him, Elliot glaring down at her clearly trying to intimidate the girl.
"Where's that feisty attitude gone huh?"
Vulpecula tilted her head to the side, her face contorted as if she couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"I save that for dickheads that deserve it, you don't make the cut, sorry bud." She shrugged nonchalantly
Theodore moved his head back around the corner incase anyone heard him chuckle to himself quietly. He heard Elliot scoff and suddenly a loud smack sound filled the corridor. Theo turned fully round the corner and in front of him he saw Elliot's hand mid air, Vulpecula's head was turned away from the Ravenclaw, her hair covering her face.
