The remaining days of the week passed by rapidly. Before long, it was the day of the party. Vulpecula had no trouble convincing her friends to attend as they were all keen for a party and agreed as soon as she proposed the idea.
Classes on Friday went by swiftly and Vulpecula found herself in her dormitory getting ready with Hermione and Ginny.
"I'm so excited, I haven't been to another house's party!" Ginny exclaimed earning laughs from the older two.
"Gin, you'll love it." Hermione encouraged.
"And what's best, there's no house rivalry at all-house-parties." Vulpecula chimed "Everyone's there for a fun time."
Vulpecula had even tried to convince her other dorm members, Lavender and Pavarti to attend the party, however, the girls refused to go to a party hosted by Slytherin. So the two were spending their Friday night in the Gryffindor common room.
Vulpecula's look of the night consisted of a deep-red dress that stopped mid-thigh which had lace accents running along the hem and neckline, accompanied by a large leather jacket that Sirius had given her, the three necklaces she sported daily, the plethora of rings she refused to take off, and thick-soled black boots. Her look was topped off with black nail polish and a smokey eye and dark red lip make-up look.
Hermione wore a short black skirt with a dark pink button up shirt paired with thigh high black boots that Vulpecula had lent her, considering they shared a shoe size. She also sported some gold jewellery that she hardly wore except for special occasions, such as the Yule Ball last year, and her hair was left down with her voluminous curls on full display.
Ginny's outfit was comprised of black leather trousers and a white shirt. She, too, wore gold jewellery but her bright ginger hair was pulled into a sleek ponytail at the back of her head.
The three girls finished up with their final touches before making their way down the stone staircase into the red common room, where they found Harry, Ron and the twins waiting for them.
"Are we ready?" George asked excitedly.
"Abso-fucking-lutely!" Vulpecula responded, earning laughs from the entire group.
They all made their way through the portrait and through the cold corridors of the quiet castle. There were students of all houses and years headed in the same direction as them, if a single teacher was to spot them they'd all be done for, but no one seemed to mind, yet they all held caution and travelled as quietly as possible.
Upon arriving at the Slytherin common room, many were confused by the lack of sound emitting from the room, especially since their portrait had been propped open by a thick book to allow for guests to enter.
However, shared confusion soon dissipated when the group stepped through the threshold into the room and became overcome with the sound of pounding music. A silencing spell, how clever of them.
The room was filled with a deep green light, there were numerous tall windows, which creatures of the Black Lake swam past, black leather sofa's and armchairs littered the room. A grand fireplace that was decorated with carved snakes held cackling green flames that heated the, what would be freezing-cold, room.
As the group of Gryffindor's walked in, they earned a few looks of disapproval from particular Slytherins, however, they remained unfazed and focused on enjoying themselves.
Vulpecula caught sight of Blaise speaking with Pansy and made her way over to him. The boy spotted her and waved at his approaching friend with a large smile on his face.
"Hey, Val, glad you guys could all make it!"
"Of course, I wouldn't miss it." She smiled. "Hey, Pansy, how've you been?"
