After a day of worry and anticipation, everyone in 12 Grimmauld Place were relieved to discover that Harry Potter was cleared of all charges and will return to Hogwarts. The group of teenagers were ecstatic when Harry returned after his trial. They spent the following two days, until they would leave for Hogwarts, in a rather upbeat mood. Although they did not go without slipping into the occasional conversation about Voldemort and what lay ahead. Sirius and the Order members warned them that Voldemort would have a plan, but what it was, they couldn't be sure.
It was the first time they'd seen Harry since the last day of school when Dumbledore held a service for Cedric's death. Harry hadn't spoken about it much, except for the first and only time he told them the unfolding of Voldemort's return.
Vulpecula had a feeling that Harry was withholding some sort of information but she reassured herself that it was simply too traumatic for him to recall completely. She and Harry weren't the closest of the four fifth years, yet they had a sort of subconscious bond that didn't require them to spend hours upon end with each other, or tell each other their deepest secrets, but they cared deeply for each other and would protect the other with everything they had.
They put it down to their parents' bond, James and Sirius, along with Remus, were so strongly connected in their teens that some sort of blood bond had to have formed between Harry and Vulpecula. Sure, they had a few spats during their third year once Harry had found out about the accusations against Sirius and the fact that he was his godfather; yet upon his learning of the truth, they moved past it without trouble.
The morning of the first of September was cold and cloudy, as if the world knew not only that autumn was approaching, but the return to Hogwarts this year would be much different. Vulpecula put on a large coat over her clothes, something she never had to do on the first day back, and hauled her trunk down the stairs.
The group of Gryffindor teenagers would be escorted to Kings Cross Station by members of the Order, including the purple-haired woman, Tonks, whom Vulpecula discovered was a second cousin of her father.
The journey to the station was rather short, Vulpecula sat in silence for the majority of it with Ron and the twins speaking loudly over each other while Remus drove.
Vulpecula continued her silence while moving through the busy station. As she was staring at the large glass ceiling, she felt something brush against her leg. Looking down she watched as a large black dog bounded on all fours next to her.
"Padfoot? Are you barking mad?!" Mad-Eye Moody whisper shouted.
Vulpecula's face became written with a smile as she watched her father in dog form pick up pace and walk into a frosted glass waiting room. The girl looked over at Remus eagerly who simply nodded.
With the silent permission, Vulpecula sped up and entered the room after her father. Sirius was waiting inside for her, standing on two legs and fur-less. The two embraced each other with open arms.
"I want you to have a good year, honey." Sirius muffled into her hair before pulling away with two hands on her shoulders. "Don't get bogged down with the Voldemort stuff, i know you're worried, and focus on your O.W.Ls. Although, I won't be mad if you rip up the paper and walk out."
Sirius and Vulpecula shared a moment of laughter. Sirius never was one for taking school too seriously, he and Remus were always getting into trouble with Harry's father, James, and the Rat-Man, Peter.
Remus poked his head round the door and told Vulpecula it was time to get going. She and Sirius shared a final farewell and she left to join the group. Remus walked into the room and he and Sirius sat on a wooden bench.
