["D/A" narrates —A.A.]
My thoughts suddenly turned to Aces. Instantly she appeared in the doorway—which didn't really faze me all that much, as these types of "synchronicities" had happened to me enough times that they were simply part of my new reality. What did faze me, though, was seeing her rosy auric-glow expanded now, roundabout her body! Yikes! Seeing her like this shifted something inside me; and I felt myself quickening, like another part of Self was returning from Dreamtime.
Aces sat down, calmed her obvious exhilaration, and asked me what was new. I told her nothing of cosmic import had come my way lately. "But," I offered, "judging by your undeniably frenzied-state something has happened to you!"
"I didn't think it showed!" she claimed, fabricating surprise.
"It doesn't," I said, "but it does to me. It's emanating all around you! Kind of like a pink, girlish energy."
"Ahhhhh," countered Aces. "So something special DID happen to you."
"Mmm, I guess so. But it only became apparent to me when you came in the room."
"You mean you are seeing energies around people?"
"I believe I am." (How did she know?)
"Wow," she said, fidgeting. She had something else on her mind. So I asked her to tell me about it.
"Doe," she said. (I like that . . . Doe). "You know things have been happening to me coincidently."
            "Synchronicity," I interjected.
"Yeah, well, more of that happened today." Her brow went up. "There I was, sitting this morning, thinking about home: about rural life and my opportunity to live in the country in a familiar surrounding—Mom's place—while still being able to work a short distance away at the county hospital. I told you about that. Remember?"
"I do," I said. "I'm not that far gone." She laughed, but there was nervousness in her laugh.
"It felt good at the time, Dorothy, but—well, right there on the heels of my good feeling, the recent problems I have had during visits home cropped up, problems with mom and her new husband, which made me feel uneasy. Afraid almost, I guess."
            "Do you love your mother?"
            "Of course!"
"Don't you think you will need to resolve your problems sooner or later?"
"Yeah," she said, "but later sure felt a lot better this morning."
"Can you go home to live and work without dealing with these feelings?"
"No, I suppose not." Now she was smiling.
"Do you think you can face up to your mother?"
"I think so, but Frankie has such a strong influence on her. I can't really say we'd be able to get beyond the surface of our differences. You know?"
            "Frankie?"
            "Her new husband."
            "Right."
"Mom calls him Frankie," she giggled.
            "Oh."
            "Mm-hmm."
