[Master J' stands, back to the thicket wall, facing the doorway. Alaya, just inside, right side of the door, is still sitting, facing Master J'. As always, in her world, it is nighttime.
                                                                           "D/A" narrates —A.A.]
"Thanks for coming, Master J', for—for everything, tonight," I said, near tears. I really meant it. All the while his face grew shaded, fading, and his glowing blue-aura turned to violet. Emerging, a pink brilliance grew ever apparent, and for a brief moment I glimpsed a beautiful young lady's face within the glow; then her pink-clad self melted into an aged, rotund Grandmother.
"Not to cry," she rasped. "No, not to cry."
In one hand she had a large, grey feather, and something bound round by animal skin. In the other hand she held a wooden ring made of twigs tied together, with what appeared to be a spider's web within.
"Dreamcatcher. It's a dreeeeeamcatcher," she said, spun it deftly in her fingers, then handed it to me. She winked.
Her voice was hoarse. Her words were . . . I don't know, broken. The silver strands in her long, grey-black hair shone in the little light that there was here—the light, for the most part, her soft, glowing aura; and her eyes were deep and piercing, though a tenderness seemed to emit from them. She was very old but truly beautiful.
"Your teachings," she cawed, "have come from the Master J' from higher realms. He has taught you to ripen them through feeling—yes? I come a different form with similar teaching; this teaching is feeling also. We call it The Heart Teaching; it will help you to understand your gifts and with them learn to see the higher realms Mother Earth looks over. We teach you to ask their help, the higher realms, the invisible realms, to ask also of birds, animals, trees, plants, stones. They too, you know, have life and carry knowledge." Her soft glowing aura suddenly morphed, brightening to green as the full moon, passing quickly overhead, peeked through the trees and shone directly upon her. And for a moment she became the younger, beautiful lady again. 'The Lady, or Judith—' Master J'? You still here? '—Judith the Essene, or Nimue, or "Mary" because it is wholly fitting.' Then the darker thicket became once more the moment, and Grandmother continued:
"You come from The Crystal Spring from beyond the Sun. On a journey through the Sun, long, long ago, you traveled toward Earth.......... ..........invisible light slowing down, slow, slower, and you became like the rainbow. Rainbow's seven colors are doors for you to connect with Sun's life, and to find your way home. Yes?" I nodded.
"Slowing down more, you became flesh—" she took a long breath, stared me straight in the eye and decelerated the pace of her words.
"—but between deeper, inner rainbow colors that are same in all man—between inner rainbow colors and flesh, lay seven more colors. These seven are different in all man, and are chosen from The Medicine Wheel to help you become just right colors of the rainbow. It's not easy for man to be, so seven medicine-gifts will help you to be just right and reach home. And home . . . home is to make your whole self shine with Love, to radiate like the Sun, so you can walk in harmony with the New Earth, the Fifth World."
She unwrapped the skin, lay it open to the side, picked up seven peach-pit-sized stones, and handed them to me. I set them in my lap. She then took what looked like a silk, purple cloth from her blouse, and . . . but maybe it was too dark to be sure, or my night-vision wasn't as good as I thought it was, because I thought I saw her pull a wand from the cloth. No—more a stick. Grandmother, holding the stick before my eyes, then lowered it to the ground, drew a large-pie sized circle in the dirt floor, and counted, one through twelve, as she made tiny slashes round the circumference. Like a clock. Or a wheel.
