“How do you feel, angel?” Crowley was cradling Aziraphale as the two of them sat in the bathtub. Aziraphale seemed much more relaxed and in not as much pain.
"Better." Aziraphale rasped.
"Good." Crowley murmured. "Just keep breathing, alright?" Crowley glanced at his watch, which he placed on the vanity. It had been five hours. Five hours of sitting in the tub with Aziraphale, a ward kept the water warm and Crowley would miracle the water clean whenever the water became cloudy with blood….even though he knew it was a normal part of labor, it wasn’t an easy thing for him to witness. His poor angel......
Aziraphale gazed up at his husband. "She's stubborn…..like you….." the angel grimaced as he rubbed his distended stomach.
"Hey now, I'm not the only one who she got that from." Crowley quipped, kissing Aziraphale's temple. Aziraphale chuckled as Madame Tracy opened the door with a gentle knock, "How are you two doing?"
"Hurting." Aziraphale rasped. The angel smiled weakly as Crowley rubbed his swollen stomach reassuringly.
"Hopefully you're further along now, let me take a look." Tracy said as she slipped on a clean pair of latex gloves.
Crowley hugged Aziraphale close to him as Tracy began her examination. Aziraphale gripped his hands tightly. "It's okay angel….it's okay…."
"Oh dear."
Crowley tensed, "Wot's wrong, Tracy?"
"Sorry, love." Tracy said apologetically to Aziraphale for the moment of discomfort. "Aziraphale’s only at three centimeters."
"Wot?" Crowley gasped as Aziraphale let out a groan of frustration.
"I'm afraid we're in for a long labor my dears."
"Fuck." Aziraphale grunted as another contraction hit.
