Aziraphale was sound asleep, with Crowley watching over him and their sleeping newborn, that is until the cries of the newborn filled the bedroom. Without hesitation, Crowley rose from the bed, scooped up Eden from the bassinet and walked to the nursery, the ceiling aglow with the glow in the dark stars.

Eden’s face was scrunched up with distress as she was lifted from her cozy bassinet, which made her cry louder.

“Hey, hey, it’s alright. I’m here, what’s wrong Eden?” Eden looked up at her dad with her amazing eyes, bright blue with the pupils of a serpent. She started to fuss again, “Shh Queenie, don’t wake up Papa, he’s had a long day. We gotta let him rest.”  Aziraphale was exhausted after the arrival of their daughter just a few hours before and Crowley was going to make sure Aziraphale didn’t leave the bed until he was certain his angel got enough rest. Crowley was going to pamper his husband to oblivion because he deserved it.

He checked her nappie, dry, and he offered her a bottle, but she didn’t want it. Instead she snuggled into her father’s chest.

“Aw, you just want to spend time with dear old Dad eh?” Crowley chuckled as he stroked her tufty red hair.

He held her close and sat in the nearby rocking chair and slowly rocked Eden back and forth and looked up at the glowing stars on the nursery ceiling, “Now let’s see, where do we begin? Ah, yes, that up there is Alpha Centauri, for the longest time, humans thought it was just one star but all along, it was two stars sharing the same orbit, and that up there is….”

And that’s where Crowley remained, holding his most precious creation close and showing her the wonders of the galaxy on her ceiling until Eden finally fell asleep.
