Aziraphale had fallen into a dreamless sleep at first, occasionally disturbed by a sharp pain from deep within his belly. 

But then, out of nowhere the angel was bombarded by bewildering images, demons and angels fighting in a terrible battle, what was worse was that he was in the thick of it…..and Lucifer himself, in his true demonic form, was charging straight at him with his old Flaming Sword…..

Aziraphale screamed in agony as Lucifer thrust the sword through his stomach….

Crowley jerked awake at Aziraphale's agonized cry. 

"Shit!" Crowley must have fallen asleep, the demon realized as he hopped out of bed and was standing at his husband's side within seconds. "Angel, love, I'm here, what's wrong?"

Crowley thought his heart would break at the sight of his beautiful angel, still drenched in sweat as he was struggling to get his breathing under control. 

"Aziraphale?"

"Tracy." Aziraphale growled through the worst contraction yet. "Get Tracy….."

Crowley dabbed Aziraphale's brow with the damp cloth as Tracy examined the angel. After learning about Aziraphale's recent episode, Tracy reassured both husband's that it was most likely just the transition stage of labor, which was normal and a possible sign that the angel was fully dilated at last. 

Crowley was helping Aziraphale through his breathing until Tracy finally spoke. 

"Well, I have good news and bad news for you both." Tracy said as she met the gazes of the husbands. 

"The good news is that you are finally at ten centimeters, Aziraphale."

"Oh thank God Almighty." Aziraphale moaned with relief.

"And the bad news?" Crowley demanded. 

"Aziraphale's going to need to start pushing on the next contraction. So you both need to get ready for the hardest part yet."
