Y/N knew they would catch up the moment they slowed down. Pain built up in their side; they kept going. They could easily outrun every Hydra agent, but they had to stop soon.

Without a second thought, they sprinted towards the cliffs and jumped. Plunging into the icy depths and sinking until the shouting faded into nothing. They went deeper and deeper, hoping they couldn't follow. Even though they knew they would.

Time was a blur as they swam. The sun was nowhere in sight and yet somethings glowed up ahead. A school of luminous fish maybe? Or some other colourful lifeform.

As they got closer the lights began to take shape. It couldn't be possible. Surely it was just the pressure squeezing their brain and causing hallucinations. There was no way they were staring at an underwater city, watching in awe as dark figures began to approach.

What appeared to be their leader spoke first, "What are you doing here?" Unlike his companions, he wasn't blue. Apart from his ears and little ankle wings, he looked like any other person. Just a regular human protecting the real Atlantis.

The fear of escaping one captors arms and running into another's almost dragged them down deeper. Y/N had never met anyone like them, there was no way of knowing how they would react to an outsider. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to find you. I was just trying to escape-"

His expression hardened as he listened, until he cut them off. "Are there men after you?"

"Probably."

"And you brought them here!" They could practically feel his anger in the water around them.

However, it wasn't his emotions they could feel. In the distance they could see one person submarines coming towards them. "I'm so sorry." There weren't many of them, but it was safe to assumed they were all armed.

"I will deal with you once they're gone."

Better than military grade submarines fired their weapons out into the water. Every one missed their targets: the man and his associates were just too fast. Even though they could handle it, Y/N knew they couldn't let them fight alone, not after they brought them here. They swam straight into the middle of the battle.

Punching through the glass, they grabbed the soldier's shirt and pulled him out. He wrestled and tried to swim away, but it all proved futile. Energy quickly draining, they summoned as much strength as possible to fight.

Namor watched as Y/N killed the last one. He could see what they had gone through at the hands of their own people. They willingly fought for Talokan instead of attempting to escape. Were they an exception to the horrid nature every surface dweller seemed to possess?

The water around them was full of debris and dilute blood. Y/N stopped in front of him, waiting for whatever punishment he deemed worthy. But nothing came.

"Are you not going to kill me?" Their confusion overshadowed their fear of offending him further.

"You protected Talokan and saved the people. In my eyes, you are no longer a surface dweller. You are welcome here for as long as you wish to stay."

Namor lead Y/N towards the city, letting a small smile overtake his features as they looked around in amazement. Compared to the architecture he had seen on land, he wasn't surprised. Their technology was so advanced it must look like a fairytale to them.

"So what should I call you?" They asked once they finished gawking.

"My enemies call me Namor."

"And what about potential threats turned treasured acquaintances?" For the first time in a long time, happiness filled them as they watched his expression turn into one of amusement.

Namor hadn't been seen for hours, so Y/N went searching. Almost everytime this happened, he could be found in the same place. However this time they were faced either something quite unexpected. "Is that me?"

He glanced towards them for a moment before returning to his mural. "You defended us, I couldn't leave you out." Shapes and patterns merged to form a battle. Few were included, but it was clear how much energy he had put into it.

The only thing that wasn't clear was why one particularly important person was missing. "Why aren't you there?"

"Now why would I go and ruin it with something like me?" During their short time together, Namor had opened up to Y/N. At times like these he often let his more playful side slip out.

"Be nice!" They scolded him, coming to sit and study his work. "I happen to be fond of that face."

"Oh is that all?"
