January 3rd, 1996

It was twilight when they came to pick Harry up.

"Had a good time, did ya?" Mr Weasley smiled widely when Harry stepped out of the house.

"The best." He grinned, and he meant it.

They'd played a number of games, not stopping until the first ray of sunshine spat out from the grey skies. Had painted, clicked loads of pictures, visited a beach nearby during the cool evening. It was perfect.

For two days, Harry had completely forgotten he was part of a war. A war which would end by a fight between him and the ultimate bad guy. He'd forgotten everything that had bugged him, had let go of every pressure, every tension and had watched television with Sirius and Alasia cuddling nearby. Yeah, he didn't prefer that part much.

But it felt so much like - family. Like something that would've happened if his parents would've been alive. Lily Potter would've had a television at their house whether his father liked it or not, was what Alasia had said.

They'd talked about his parents a lot, too. Almost all the time, he'd fill the silence with questions about them and Alasia and Sirius would answer without balking. His mother hated the colour pink, he got to know. One time she'd burnt her entire wardrobe's pink because it clashed with her hair.

His father secretly bought a cologne that smelled like broom polish and then boasted about Quidditch to Lily, pretending as though he'd spent so much time tending to his brooms that he smelt just like the polish now.

It wasn't even a good smell, Sirius had made a face. Broom Polish was like the equivalent of petroleum in the muggle world. It was a good smell, was what Alasia had said contradictorily.

His days were so satisfactory, somehow exactly like he'd imagined his life to be like living with his godparents. And he was so terribly disappointed about having to return. At least he could've spent a day or two more here, if nothing else. But the train left the next day and he needed to return to Hogwarts.

Needed to prepare for the war he didn't want once again. Sometimes he hated Mrs Weasley for telling him he's too young to know the details of it, but sometimes, he agreed. He was so young, and it was so unfair that he'd been thrown into this world since the moment he was born.

With a sigh, he followed Mr Weasley towards the lined up brooms. "No flying car this time? Didn't know you liked brooms."

"I don't." Mr Weasley frowned. "Would much rather travel in a normal car, if anything. But Mrs Weasley forced me to bring two brooms. Oh, Harry, I think I'd not be riding a broom for a very long while after this. My body aches from sitting on that abomination."

Harry grinned, looking behind him one more time before he flew away. Alasia was leaning against one side and Sirius the other.

"Don't stress too much, kiddo." She blew him a kiss.

"And eat well." Sirius winked. "I want you to have a bit muscles the next time I see you. I'm sure Molly would make up for it, though."

"Oh she definitely will." Alasia chuckled. "I fear for you even, Harold."

Harry rolled his eyes, "Take care you two."

"I'll take care of him." Alasia said at the same time Sirius said,

"I'll take care of her."

They both turned towards each other with lovesick smiles and bent down to kiss. Harry made a disgusted sound in his throat and turned away at once.

But for all it mattered, he felt fuller than ever before, his heart was swelled with all the love Alasia and Sirius had for him, for each other. Their house radiated all the positive energy and he was newly regenerated with it.
