(Jesse's POV)
Finally the last event, the Walls. This was the event that would determine whether or not my friends and I go home. I didn't accept Hadrian's deal, so there was a slight chance that this all could fail, but I was ready to accept that fate. I walked alongside Facemeat as we made our way over to my portion of the arena. When we arrived, I noticed that my section was mostly filled with dirt and gravel. That bastard, he will pay for this! I dug up some of the gravel and dirt to see if there was anything underneath. Unsurprisingly, there was nothing there.
A couple minutes later, Hadrian's voice rang throughout the arena. I watched as the walls came down, creating a bigger arena area. I looked around at all the teams with the swords, bows, and even one guy with a fishing rod. Em looked up at the announcers and grunted before she started to make her way towards me.
"Hang on now, we have movement!" Otto said through the loudspeaker.
My eyes widened, "Em, really?!"
"Looks like the Gladiator-Formerly-Known-As-Emily is preparing her attack!" Hadrian commentated.
"And Jesse, the Newcomer, is just PAINFULLY unarmed and unprotected," Mevia added.
I backed away as Em started to get closer and closer to me. She pulled out her stone sword threateningly. I squeezed my eyes shut as she came face to face with me. But then, nothing happened. When I opened my eyes, I was shocked at what I saw. In front of me, Em was down on one knee with her sword in her hands. She was offering me her sword. I shakily, but gratefully, accepted her offering. I listened as Hadrian and Mevia were angrily commenting on the situation
After taking the sword into my inventory, all the competitors came up to us. The gladiators came up to all of us in confusion.
"Hey, why aren't you all killing each other?" Slab asked.
Clutch scratched the back of her neck, "Yeah, we're confused! Usually, all little teams kill each other, you know."
"We're not killing each other because we're done fighting," I said.
"Then why do you still have your weapons out?" Slab asked.
Emily scowled, "Done fighting EACH OTHER."
The gladiators gave us all confused looks.
"Don't you see, none of US are the enemies. It's THEM!" I said pointing up tp the stands, "They're the ones behind everything!"
"Ugh my head hurts," Clutch groaned.
Facemeat rubbed his temples as well, "Too many, perspectives..."
Hadrian growled as he started to comment on how the gladiators were being idiots and how they should have been attempting to kill us. The gladiators scrambled around nervously as I tried to convince them tp join us. They eventually just decided to walk off too cool off.
After they walked away, Em and I led the competitors to the winner's platform. We all put our weapons away and climbed up to the top of the platform. Hadrian was furious at the fact that we all had won and angrily stormed out of the stands, ordering Otto and Mevia to follow him.
As we all were getting down from the platform. Hadrian stormed up to us and started to threaten us. I pointed put how Mevia had said in yeh rules that "whoever steps on the winner's platform wins the game". As Otto tried to give me the Portal Atlas, Hadrians and Mevia covered him with a cocoon of obsidian. They proceeded to do this to all the competitors except for Em. Em stood by my side ready fight. She took on Hadrian as I took on Mevia.
After Em took Hadrian as far away as she could from Mevia, I pulled out my stone sword and started to fight. After a while, she sent me to the respawn zone. There I was greeted by friends. They handed me some diamond tools and Tim's armor. I immediately ran off to fight Mevia once again. Em and the others were dealing with Hadrian on the other side of the arena.
