Stuck Wei Ying

He didn't like it. Not one bit. He hated it with a passion. He was...

...bored!

He sighed and laid sprawled out on the floor of the Jingshi. Lan Zhan had forbidden him from going outside at any point. The fox couldn't understand why. Thinking about it, considering the fact he nearly froze to death in the snow if it weren't for the rabbits keeping him warm, he had to admit he was the one in the wrong.

Then again, it has all been the dragon's fault in the first place. Had that stupid male not smothered him, Wei Ying wouldn't have made such a decision.

Wei Ying: "Stupid Lan Zhan. Stupid dragon," he whispered to himself. "It's all your fault I ended up in this predicament, and now you're punishing me for it." He continued to complain out of sheer boredom.

Lan Zhan had handed Wei Ying a book just before he left for work that day. The fox was uninterested in it, however, and decided to leave it sitting there. Yet, the more he stared at it, the more his curiosity grew, and so, he gave up.

He sighed as he sat on the bed with the book in his hands. He studied the cover with some skepticism. He was unsure of whether he would find it interesting or not. Lan Zhan seemed to think so as he had been the one to suggest it in the first place. The fox sighed once more, resting his hand on his chin, crossing his legs.

His legs dangled a bit as the bed was above his waist when standing next to it. He swung them slightly forward and back, taking care not to knock them against the wooden frame. He opened the book to the first page. He still couldn't read as well as he wanted to, but he could read enough that he understood what was happening.

He soon grew tired as he relaxed. He sat with his back straight against the head board, his legs stretched out before him. He yawned and stretched a bit to loosen and wake himself up. He continued reading. He hadn't read very far - he was still in the first chapter - when a loud noise startled him. He dropped the book. It fell to the floor and slid under the bed.

Wei Ying: "Oh no! I hope it isn't damaged. Lan Zhan will kill me if it is." He swiftly climbed off the bed and peered underneath it. Sure enough, as he'd expected, the book had slid so far underneath the bed, it was dead center - just out of the fox's reach. He sighed. He needed to get the book without damaging it. He decided that there was no other option save to fetch it himself. He stretched his arm out as far as it would go, but it was still an inch or two too far for him to grasp it. He shimmied himself underneath, squeezing his body under the bed. He felt the frame hit his behind. He didn't care though. Despite the frame cutting into his skin, he stretched and reached out for the book.

Wei Ying: "Al...most...there..." He struggled to grasp a hold of the binding. A few centimeters more and he finally was able to grab it. "Got it!" he exclaimed as he held the book to his chest. He went to back out and realized he was stuck! "Oh great! I hope Lan Zhan returns soon. I don't want to be under here all afternoon." He continued to struggle to free himself from under the bed.

Lan Zhan happened to walk in at that precise moment. He stopped, staring at the bed. All he saw were a pair of legs and a hind end moving about on their own. It wiggled about as if it were stuck fast to the bed frame. He smiled as he realized it was Wei Ying. He couldn't help save to laugh internally at the poor fox. A million and one things flashed through his mind at what he could do to that poor, defenseless bottom. It caught him off guard, his ears turning red at the thoughts, but he regained his composure. He quietly moved across the floor to the set of legs struggling to free themselves. He grabbed hold of one of them and pulled.

Wei Ying was struggling hard against the floor, trying to wriggle his way free from the confines of the bed holding him in place. He should have just waited for the dragon to return before retrieving the book. He was on his last leg (so to speak) and was about to give up when he felt something grab hold of his ankle and yank him free.

Lan Zhan stared at the fox as the other dangled in mid air. "Wei Ying."

The fox smiled with embarrassment. "Oh, hey, Lan Zhan! You're back already?" He chuckled nervously.

The dragon sighed, setting the fox down on the bed gently. "What was Wei Ying doing under the bed?"

Wei Ying: "Under the bed? I don't know what you mean?" He tried to play it off.

Lan Zhan sighed again. "Wei Ying..." he warned.

Wei Ying: "I wasn't doing anything under there. Just retrieving your book. I was frightened by a loud noise and dropped it. It slid underneath, so I went to retrieve it, and that's when I got stuck." He held out the book to the dragon, looking away in embarrassment.

The dragon took the book, pushing it against the fox's chest. "Keep it. Bought it for Wei Ying."

Wei Ying: "For me...? Really...? Thank you!" He threw himself at the dragon, hugging them tightly.

Lan Zhan smiled. "Wei Ying is very welcome." He rubbed the fox's head between his ears. The other purred with happiness.

Wei Ying giggled like a little child. He gripped the dragon's wrist and pulled him. "Can we go see the white rabbits? Can we? Huh, can we?" Lan Zhan shook his head. Wei Ying was disappointed. "Ah...why not?"

Lan Zhan: "Rabbits are hibernating." Wei Ying looked confused, so the dragon explained.

Wei Ying: "Hibernating? What's that mean?"

Lan Zhan: "Rabbits are sleeping for the Winter."

The fox seemed to understand at that point. "I see. So that means they can't come out to play?" The dragon shook his head again. "That stinks. I wanted to play with someone. I'm bored."

Lan Zhan: "Can play with Yuan once classes are over."

Wei Ying sighed. "Oh, alright. I guess I'll have to wait then."

Lan Zhan removed the fox from off of him. "Going to fetch food. Will return shortly."

We Ying pouted. He wanted the dragon to stay a while longer, so he could continue to hug him. The warmth died as soon as the other had released their hold. It was chilly inside the Jingshi despite the fire being lit. The fox moved closer to it, trying to stay warm. Even wrapped in a blanket and next to the fire as close as possible without burning himself, he was still a bit cold, but it was better than it had been.

Lan Zhan returned with the food to find the young fox in front of the fire place. He placed the food on the table and sat down. "Wei Ying. Food is ready." The fox didn't answer him. The dragon at once felt something was wrong. "Wei Ying." He went to the fox. Still no response. He looked to see the fox had fallen asleep sitting upright. He decided to leave them be for the time being. He gently laid the fox down with a pillow under his head, and the blanket draped over him properly. The dragon tended to the fire to make certain it's flames never went out.

Wei Ying slept there all night.
