This poem is about having a best friend but having death take them away.

We grew up together, you and I

We shared our joys and sorrows

We laughed and cried, we lived and died

We promised each other tomorrows

We were inseparable, you and I

We knew each other's secrets

We fought and made up, we gave and took

We were each other's complements

We grew old together, you and I

We faced our challenges and fears

We loved and lost, we gained and paid

We cherished our memories and years

But then you left me, you and I

You went to a place I can't follow

You broke my heart, you took my soul

You left me alone and hollow

I miss you so much, you and I

I wish you were still here with me

But I know you're watching, you're smiling

You're waiting for me to be free

We'll meet again, you and I

We'll reunite in the afterlife

We'll laugh and cry, we'll live and die

We'll never say goodbye.
