This poem is about enemies to lovers to enemies again.

We met as foes, vying for control

We fought and we raged, we tore at each other's soul

But in the midst of war, we glimpsed a different light

We softened and we opened, we revealed our inner plight

We turned to friends, trusting each other

We kissed and we cuddled, we learned from one another

But in the calm of peace, we drifted apart

We hardened and we closed, we hid our broken heart

We parted as rivals, wounding each other

We lied and we betrayed, we forgot our love for one another

But in the depths of pain, we still recall the time

We loved and we laughed, we made each other shine.
