It's like there are no citizens here. Did they evacuate the place?

''It seems they were on to us,'' Jimin spoke. We both held our ground, his sword was firmly gripped in his hands guiding us through the streets. Something about the red color dripping off from it made me feel uneasy. Is bloodshed always the only way out?

The deeper we found ourselves wandering around, the more we only stumbled upon our allies. To me, it felt like we had already won this battle.

''Should we head back?'' Jimin his hand reached for mine, it was warm. More like hot, his body was burning up and I could tell by the look on his face that he wasn't feeling well. He is drained....this whole time all he did was protect me. Despite knowing that I can protect myself, he fears me getting cold feet. Not being able to hurt a human despite the promise I made to him.

''Let's regroup with the others.'' He smiled a set of ease washing over him, but the moment I spoke those words a chill send over my spine. It made me feel like the...worst is about to come.

Did we kill...this many of them?

I traced my steps back to the forest, making sure that the villagers are safe and well hidden. The ominous scent of blood filled my nostrils and the more I walked the more bodies came into my vision. Scattered around the ground like there was a massacre.

My men didn't do this...

I crouched down by one of the bodies. The air around me felt heavy but silent as if I am the only living thing here right now. The soldier in front of me was sprawled on his stomach but an eerie feeling filled my body. Turning him around confirmed my thoughts. These were really not my men who killed him. His face wasn't recognizable anymore, his eyes were pressed into his skull, and his jaw almost fell off.

There is no doubt that he was killed by brute force, a strength only Infernals are capable of. But my men disregarded that method of fighting a long time ago. In a battle like this, you get rid of your opponent by striking him clean and fast with a sword, perhaps an axe or arrow. It's not weird to use your own hands and body when needed, but the thing that felt off was the fact that I stumbled upon multiple bodies like this. As if this person wanted each one of them to suffer and fill their own greed by doing it barehanded. As if a beast had attacked them..... that went into a berserk mode.

I picked up my pace, running my way to the cave but I came to hold once again rather quickly.

''Jirin?''

''Yoongi!'' The amount of sweat that coated her face was concerning. She ran to me as I tried to take in our surroundings. Is she alone? Or is she being followed?

Those thoughts faded away the moment she clasped her arms around me. Her tiny frame trembled against me, taking short but deep breaths. As the seconds passed her hands began to dig deeper into my clothes.

''What happened?'' I carefully placed my hand on top of her head, her body seemed to ease at this motion. Jirin is supposed to be with the others in the cave, hidden away. Why is she here?

''There was an attack....Y/N stayed behind to fight with some others.'' Her voice was brittle as if she was trying hard not to cry.

''I-I became worried because she didn't come to us. When I got here....all these bodies.'' I slightly patted her head ushering her into silence. It seems she is just shocked and I'm sure it brings back memories that she doesn't want to remember.
