I swore she was by my side merely seconds ago...
I handed the elderly woman her silver coins in exchange for the fruit she sold. Once my focus was on her, I completely lost sight of Y/N.
''Minjae.'' She turned to me in a hurry hearing the worry in my voice.
''What is it?'' She too was looking around for some goods we could use, but instead jogged her way back to me.
''Have you seen Y/N?'' Once again my words were coated in worry, as bad scenarios started to fill my head.
''I thought she was with you...''
''I lost sight of her....and now I can't find her.''
As minutes passed the market only started to get even more crowded, amits it no sign of Y/N.
''Come we will search for her.''

''Where is Tobio?'' It was a first that she didn't sound worried or scared. It seemed she adjusted rather quickly to us, especially Jungkook and Minjae, the little one seemed to be fond of them.
''No need to worry he is with Jungkook on the upper deck.'' I handed her some bread and vegetable soup. Personally made by Usam he is known for being quite a chef.
We also had someone take a good look at them. Tshua....she is one of Dawran his closest friends. A head nurse from back in the village. I only met her once before seeing her here. It seemed she is not only good with a needle and thread but with a sword as well.
The results luckily weren't that bad. Both of them are healthy. Tobio the most...Jirin appeared to be underweight and sleep-deprived.
''Your plan is stupid.'' I tried to hold in my laughter watching her shove down the food like a hungry bear. Right before insulting me.
''I beg your par-''
''Have you seen our part of the village? Compared to the ones on the hill. The wealthy bastards who live there.''
''We are outnumbered. Sure you might have tons of skilled fighters and perhaps some of the villagers wanna fight alongside you, but they have Infernals, soldiers, and more people to stand alongside them than we do. It's not just the council you'll be fighting. It's the hundreds of other people who do benefit from our poor living situations.''
She has a point....but even so...
''It's not us against them...It's us against the rest of the city.'' She finally came to hold, as if her stomach was already satisfied with its intake.
''It doesn't seem to me like you really wanna fight for your freedom.''
It was something that had me quite by surprise.
Of all people I expected her to be trampling to strike.
''I just....don't wanna lose more of my people.''
After knowing what she has been through it was not a surprise that she thought this way, but this time it will be different.
''We don't have a lot of young men or skilled fighters like they do. We have elderly people, children....the ones that need protection, not a blade put in their hands to defend themselves.''
And that's where you're wrong.
''I get that you're worried....and care for those you know, but...don't you think that decision is up to them? Those elderly people were once wise young ones, I'm sure even though they seem fragile and weak to you. They have a fire burning within them, ready to stand proudly and defend themselves. Fight for their freedom along with everyone else.''
