Chapter Thirty

My entire body ached as we disembarked the shuttle, Kylo could feel my unease.

"You can stay here." He tried to reason with me, carrying Lyra down the ramp as I slowly shuffled behind him.

"No, he requested for us both he will get us both."

"You cannot protect her in this condition."

"Don't push me on this Kylo, I am going with her." I was staying stubborn. "He'll just find a way to punish me if I don't follow his orders."

"Fine." He snapped.

All of the knights followed us into the throne room, Kylo handed me the baby before he took the knee.

"The family arrives finally, I've been impatient, you've kept me waiting."

I winced, trying to keep any retaliation back he was just trying to anger me and I would not rise to it. I needed to stay strong and protect my daughter at all cost.

"Bring her closer, I want to see the newest member of the first order." He beckoned me closer.

I looked down at Kylo who nodded for me to go on ahead, I took a breath and walked forward. I ignored the burning pain, holding Lyra close to me.

"Closer" Snoke ordered.

I wheezed as I bent down to bring Lyra closer to him.

"The birth has weakened you, I thought that you were stronger than this. You disapoint me." He sneered, I held back my anger I would save it for when I was alone.

"She looks like Ren, I hope she's not as weak as him. Maybe she ought to be removed now." He gazed up at me with a wicked look in his eye.

"Please no." I begged. "She will be strong, I'll guide her in the force you feel there is no conflict in me."

"For now she will remain, but the minute that changes she'll be removed. She is a part of the First Order now, I expect a male heir once you deliver one maybe I'll allow her to stay with you."

I gulped, the more children I had the harder it would be to protect them all.

"You may leave girl, Ren stay."

I moved away from that vile creature as quickly as I could, shielding my child.

Kylo looked up at me, trying to reassure me as I left swiftly boarding the shuttle without him.

--

As we arrived back onto our ship we were met by Ushar who I'd commed to meet us, I didn't feel strong enough to protect Lyra out of the safety of our quarters.

"How was it?" He asked as he helped me off the ramp, carrying Lyra.

"Awful, I don't know how I am supposed to keep her safe." I felt like my heart was going to burst. "This isn't the life that I wanted.

"We'll all help Lady Ren, she'll be the most guarded little girl in the galaxy." He promised.

I was too tired to reply, I just wanted to get her away from prying eyes and to safety.

The other knights met us at my quarters, I settled Lyra into her crib and painfully lowered myself into bed hissing as my stitches pulled.

Ushar pulled his helmet off

"Are you okay? Do I need to com medbay?"

I shook my head

"I just want to sleep."

"Yes my Lady." He nodded and left.

--

My eyes burned when I came to as Kylo came back, nursing a bruised face.

"Are you alright?" He asked, sitting on the edge of our bed.

I felt like death, even the short excursion to the shuttle and back had taken it all out of me.

"I feel awful." My throat ached and my head felt so hot.

"You shouldn't have come."

"I didn't have a choice Kylo, you know that. We don't have a choice in any of this. We both didn't want a child, or to raise her like this but he forced us. You would have never married me, you don't love me." A tear rolled down my cheek.

"You're being hysterical." Kylo muttered, getting up.

"Whatever." I rolled over, sick of the sight of him.

After he stormed out, I was racked with sobs shaking myself back to sleep.
