Chapter Seventeen
I woke up to an irritating beeping noise.
"Will someone turn that off I'm trying to sleep." I croaked, god my throat felt dry.
I felt a weight on my bed, and I opened one of my eyes to see Kylo sat, looking worried.
"How are you?" He asked, hesitating to touch me in case he hurt me more.
I thought for a few seconds about my answer, I assessed what hurt before answering.
"Sore." My arm was in a cast and held tightly to my chest, my side stung.
"The surgery went well, they've strapped up your ribs, your head scan was clear." He looked over me cautiously.
"My ribs?" I hadn't realised I'd hurt them during my fall.
"You broke three." I could feel his upset that I was hurt whilst under his care.
"Fucking spider." I murmured wincing as I moved slightly.
"I'm sorry, I should have protected you. A fortnight of marriage and already you needed surgery."
"Next time I have my own weapon, I want to murder it's family, avenge my pain" I wheezed.
"Of course, when your arm is healed, we can build the sabre and we can slaughter the spiders together." He said as he stroked my good arm gently trying to hold back a laugh about the spiders.
"When will that be?" I hoped that it wouldn't be too long, I couldn't bear to sit around doing nothing.
"You'll need the cast for 6 weeks, then rehabilitation."
"What about training, what will I do now?" I was frustrated, I hated to feel like a useless part.
"We can focus on strengthen your skills that don't need physical activity." He said staring into my eyes, this was him doing his best to comfort me.
"I'm tired." I sighed.
"Then sleep."
"Don't keep yourself up all night for me, you need to sleep too." I said weakly.
"I'm fine, just worry about yourself." He put his hand on my head and put me into a deep peaceful sleep.

I spent another two days in hospital before they discharged me back to our quarters. I was glad to be moved, I was going out of my mind with boredom in that room. Particularly when Kylo was away for his meetings, I didn't have any other visitors as he'd seen to it that no one else would bother me. The medical staff were relieved when I protested about the length of my stay, they were on edge constantly around Kylo and I.
After my discharge Kylo collected me and walked me slowly back to our quarters. He pulled his helmet on before he left, he hated to walk the ship without wearing it.
"You don't know how glad I am to be out of there." I smiled.
"I've missed you, our quarters seem so much smaller without you." The mask rasped, it was so odd to hear his mask saying such kind words to me.
"And to think our first week of marriage you forced me to sleep on the couch." I teased.
"I was prepared to share he bed." He muttered.
"I didn't want to risk you choking me in my sleep." I laughed, although I did have to admit to myself there was a possibility of him actually doing that.
"I wouldn't have."
"Hmm I'm not so sure."
He held the door open for me when we got to our quarters, he really had changed recently. Maybe all it took was sex and a giant spider attacking me for him to open up. He helped me get dressed for bed and lay next to me as I tried to settle, gently pulling me into his chest. I traced the patterns of scars on his body, normally he wouldn't like me touching him like this. He'd spent so long being abused; he couldn't bear to be touched in an intimate way. I held my hand up to his neck and drifted off to sleep.
