Chapter Ten
Kylo avoided me as much as he could for the next few days, I could feel a shift within him. And I felt it would be best not to seek him out. I kept my thoughts to myself and actively avoided reaching into his mind, I didn't want to intrude anymore.
Instead my training with the Knights ramped up, I also spent more time in the gym on my own accord. Each morning I was collected by a Knight and escorted to the gym, she was still looking out for me, he hadn't forgotten about what Hux had attempted.
I decided I wanted to make myself stronger to better protect myself but I also found myself being pulled further towards the dark side in my meditations, and it didn't frighten me. I felt that I could belong here, and I was slowly starting to enjoy my daily routines. I wanted to be a warrior for the order.
Trudgen was posted outside of my door this morning, he was my least favourite of the knights I couldn't get him speak to me. It didn't matter how much small talk I tried with him he'd just ignore me. He also showed me no mercy during our training, I hadn't yet beaten him and last time I tried he almost dislocated my shoulder.
We made our way silently to the gym where Kylo was on the weight bench with his mask off.
"Oh great, another victim." I joked, I was glad to see him finally after the last few days.
"You wish." He growled gently.
"So are you cleared for training?" I asked hopefully.
"No, but here I am so I want to see what you can do." He dropped his weight down with a loud thud. "What have my men taught you whilst I was gone?"
He stood and I stared at him, he was wearing a black t-shirt and joggers and he looked incredibly handsome.
"Are you done oogling me?" He sneered.
I blushed pulling off my cloak and throwing it behind me.
"Sorry, are you ready?" I asked.
He held his arms out and nodded.
I cleared my mind of any thoughts I had and tightened my stance, I was on the attack. I moved swiftly, and span with a kick to his stomach he caught my leg before it made contact and he pulled me to the ground. My face slammed into the gym floor and I felt my nose splatter as it broke, blood poured down my face and pooled into my mouth. I choked and spat blood out over the floor.
"Again." He ordered.
"You've broken my nose." I spluttered as I pinched my nose to stop the bleeding.
"You can go to med bay after you've successfully beaten me, use the pain as a catalyst. What have you been doing in my absence? Not a great deal it would seem."
I rolled my eyes and got back up, my nose throbbed, but I ignored it the best I could. I used the pain to spur me on. Blood poured down into my mouth I spat it to the side before pausing briefly, I did my best not to think about my next move. I didn't want to give anything away to him. I pulled out a blaster I'd concealed and slammed the handle into his face and the back of his head as he went down. He got back up with his eyes burned with rage.
"I didn't say you could use a weapon." He snarled, squaring up to me his size was menacing.
"But you didn't say I couldn't?" I knew I was pushing my luck, I braced myself for an impact, anticipating that he'd retaliate violently.
"Cheat." He screamed, face red with anger his eyes narrowing.
"Child." I sneered.
"Fine, if you want to use weapons." He pulled a light sabre off the wall and ignited it.
I pulled one off too, I'd had no training in light sabre duels, but I figured that it would be better than having nothing at all to defend myself with. I ignited it and stood ready for his attack, my heart pounded in my chest.
Kylo stepped forward and the sabre flew above my head, I pulled mine up to intercept his and sparks flew as they hit. I pushed forward as hard as I could with the force and pushed him back, he pulled his light sabre back and I span to send my sabre crashing into his again.
He roared as I blocked his attack time and time again, I couldn't defeat him but I could at least match and defend myself. I was tired, my muscles screaming in agony from exertion and drenched in sweat by the time Kylo gave up. I was stronger than he thought.
"We're done here, you can leave now" He ordered, furious that I'd bested him.
I collected my cloak from the floor and pulled it on, trying to hide some of the sweat and blood that had pooled onto my chest. Ushar escorted me into the med bay and I was immediately seen by one of the doctors. She had to reset my nose which was excruciating, and I made a promise to myself that I'd hurt Kylo just as bad for this. The revenge would be sweet, and I'd be sure to enjoy it.
I didn't report to training for the next few days, my body ached, my face hurt, and the bruises looked horrendous. I was angry I wanted to push Kylo Ren, I wondered how long I could disobey him for before he'd snap. At this point I was fearing I had a death wish, I had so little to lose so if he did put me out of my misery, he'd actually be doing me a favour.
I was deep in meditation when a pounding at my door interrupted me that evening, I ignored it and opened by eyes to see Kylo had barged in. He was a menacing sight in his mask, light sabre held unlit at his side.
"What do you want?" I sighed.
"The Supreme Leader has requested an audience with us." His mask crackled.
"Both of us?" My heart raced, maybe Snoke had heard of my absence during training, was he punishing me for disobeying my master?
"Yes, so come on." He grabbed my arm to drag me out of my quarters.
"Let me get dressed." I pulled my arm back, resisting him and running into my bedroom, slamming the door tightly in his face.
I pulled on a clean pair of trousers and a long sleeved shirt, along with my cloak and boots I pulled on my long black leather gloves as we exited my quarters.
We continued down to the loading bay.
"We're going to the supremacy?" I asked, it must be serious if he wanted to see us both in person.
"That's what I said didn't I? Are you an imbecile as well as insolent?" The mask spat.
He dragged me into a wall, winding me as he slammed my back against it. He slapped me roughly, his hand stung as it left a mark on my cheek.
"Behave yourself, you need to watch yourself with Snoke. He doesn't allow for any misbehaviour."
