A heavy hand on my head awoke me, it was Ushar.

"Lady Ren you are burning up, you need medbay."

"No". I croaked. "Where's Lyra? She needs feeding."

"She is with her nanny droid, you can't make her sick. Come on I'll take you."

He carefully picked me up in the crook of his arms.

"Trudgen find a cloak to throw over her." He ordered, a cloak was carefully placed over me.

"I feel so hot." I protested shivering.

"You have a fever." Ushar replied carrying me out of my quarters and into the corridor.

"Where's Kylo." I asked not really caring about the answer.

"Smashing up consoles somewhere." Ushar smirked.

I smiled weakly. "Is Lyra protected?"

"Cardo and Vicrul are with her, they have a soft spot for her."

I smiled again at the thought of the tiny infant with the two dark clad brutes with her

"I'm sorry we are such a distraction to you all."

"Don't be an idiot."

We got to the medbay, I was carefully placed onto the cot.

"She has a fever." Ushar told the doctor. "We'll wait outside." Gesturing over to Trudgen to follow him.

The medical team buzzed around as they placed monitors on me.

"Lady Ren your temperature is dangerously high, we'll give you medication to help fight the infection."

I felt a sting as they placed the cannula into my hand for the drugs to go in, they made me feel dizzy and my eyes felt heavy.

--

"So weak."

General Hux paced into my room, with a derisive snort, Hux approached, his voice dripping with contempt as he addressed me.

"Pathetic," he spat, his lip curling in disgust.

"You dare to call yourself a member of the First Order, yet here you lie, weak and feeble." His words cut deeper than any blade, each syllable a cruel reminder of my vulnerability.

I didn't need to be reminded of how weak and feeble I was, I was already made starkly aware of that.

"Why are you here." I asked with as much venom as I could muster, but instead I weakly croaked.

"I wanted to see the so called future of the First order, the mother of the next generation." He sneered.

"I've seen inside of your head, you wish I was yours." I teased him.

"If you were mine you wouldn't be in this condition, Ren has no control of you. This is why you are sick." He remarked, his tone devoid of sympathy.

"I am sick because of your cruel leader."

"How dare you speak of our supreme leader in such a manner, disgusting whore!" He raised his hand and struck me his eyes burning with fury.

"You'll regret that, it's a promise. Get out before I call a knight in." I retorted vehemently.

Surprisingly he took my threat seriously and stalked out leaving me alone, other than the medical droids buzzing around me and food being delivered which I didn't touch I had no visitors.

The heavy silence was broken by the sudden arrival of Kylo Ren. His presence filled the room with a palpable intensity, his black cloak billowing behind him as he strode purposefully towards my bedside.

I watched him approach, a mixture of surprise and relief flooding through me at his unexpected arrival. Despite the turmoil that often surrounded him, there was a part of me that found solace in his presence, even if I was still furious with him

"Kylo," I breathed, my voice barely a whisper.

His mask concealed his expression, but I could sense the concern radiating from him as he gazed down at me. "What happened?" he demanded, his voice low and urgent.

I recounted the events that had led you to the med bay, the illness that had taken hold of you with relentless ferocity. Kylo listened in silence, his jaw clenched with tension as he absorbed my words.

Without a word, he reached out with a gloved hand, gently brushing a strand of hair from my forehead. "I am sorry, I didn't want you to see Snoke. I know that you didn't have a choice" he murmured, his voice tinged with regret.

I offered him a weak smile, grateful for his presence in this moment of vulnerability.

Kylo's gaze softened, a rare tenderness in his eyes as he leaned closer to me. "You are my wife," he whispered, his voice barely audible above the hum of the medical equipment. "Your well-being is my concern."

In that moment, I felt a surge of love and gratitude towards the man before me, a reminder that even amidst the chaos of our lives, there were moments of connection and intimacy that bound us together. And as Kylo remained by my side, his presence a steadfast anchor in the storm, I knew that together, we would weather whatever challenges lay ahead. Together we would keep our daughter safe.
