Chapter 2:Conversations in the Dark

Y/n pov

We finally made it to Hogwarts and Sirius still had his arm around me.

"Come on! Hogwarts is just waiting for our chaos and we're sitting on the train. Let's. Go!" James said loudly. I smiled a bit and got up. Sirius reluctantly took his arm off of me. We walked off the train and onto the carriages. I sat next to Sirius and Remus.

"Did you get the books I sent?" Remus asked as the other boys talked.

"Yeah! Thank you so much! It made summer a little more bearable"

"That's good"

"Mhmm"

The carriage stopped in front of the gate and we all got out. We walked up to the school and headed into the great hall.

"Come on y/n! I want food" Sirius said grabbing my hand and dragging me with him.

"Sirius! Slow down" I yelled as he ran down the aisle. He stopped at their usual spot. He sat down first and I sat down next to him. He laughed a little as he saw me slightly out of breath.

"Little too fast. Sorry" he laughed

"Yeah, just a little," I said with a small smile. "And thanks...for earlier"

"Yeah Of course"

"How did you know"

"I say you tense up when you looked in and them saying shit to you and people laughing so I had to check"

"You weren't supposed to find out"

"Why not. They were saying horrible things to you" he said softly

"I don't know. I guess I was embarrassed"

"You shouldn't be. They should"

"What"

"Well they just messed with the wrong people and if they touch you or hurt you in any way again they'll have to deal with me"

I smiled at him before the others sat down. We listened to Dumbledore's speech before we started grabbing food.

"Sirius" I whispered after a thought popped into my head.

"Hmm?" He hummed turning to look at me.

"There in my dorm room"

I saw him thinking for a second.

"Hey, guys! Y/n should sleep in our room for a little while" Sirius said

"That's a fun Idea!" Remus said looking over at me.

"Yeah sure," Peter said.

"Why," James asked.

"Come on James it will be fun!" Remus said nudging him.

"Fine" He grumbled.

Sirius smiled to himself before grabbing my hand under the table and squeezing it.

"Problem solved" he whispered. I just shook my head. I pushed my plate away. Sirius continued talking for a minute before he took a breath and saw me not eating anymore and reading my book. The dinner was ending soon and the plates were taken away. Both Jame and Remus had duties and Peter was going to hang out with some other friends. The plates disappeared and he looked over at me with a questioning look. We all got up and the others went their separate ways leaving me and Sirius walking back to the common room.

"Why didn't you eat," he asked as we got back to the common room.

"I uh well I wasn't hungry" I responded quietly

"Come on y/n. You have to eat" he said softly as we sat down on the couch.

"I know" I mumbled leaning on his arm. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me onto his chest.

"Have you been eating at home?" he asked into my hair.

"Um..."

"How have I missed that" he questioned himself.

I shrugged before he rubbed my hair. We stared at the fire for a little while before he nudged me.

"Let's head up to bed. It's getting late." He said quietly

"Mhmm"

I got up and he followed me.

"Do you have pajamas in here"

"No"

"You can use some of mine so you don't have to go to the other room"

He grabbed some plaid pants and a sweater before throwing them at me.

"Change in the bathroom," he said. I nodded and changed quickly before walking back in. He was In his bed.

"Where am I sleeping"

"Next to me of course," he said opening the blankets for me. I walked over and sat down on the bed before he grabbed my waist and pulled me into his chest. "Sleep" he whispered into my ear. I turned to face him and wrapped my arms around him. He pulled me into a hug and nuzzled his nose into my neck.

Sirius pov

I heard her breathing slow down and her arms loosen around my neck. I looked down to see her sleeping peacefully. I smiled before kissing the top of her head. Merlin how I wish I could kiss her lips. I've tried to hide this feeling for fear that James would actually kill me. Being close to her makes me nervous and when she's upset it makes me upset. I've gotten way more protective over her in the past couple of years. I get anxious every time she's not around. She's the one person who makes me feel safe even without words. I ran my fingers through her hair and l watched her sleeping. I heard the door open and the guys walk in. My back was facing the door so they didn't know I was awake.

"James don't freak out," Remus said quietly

"Why," James asked.

"Look at Sirius's bed"

He was silent for a moment

"I'm happy for him"

"What?"

"I'm happy for him. He found someone to be with him for everything and be his everything even if it is my sister. I know he wouldn't hurt her"

I smiled to myself before hearing them get into bed

"I'm shocked"

"Why"

"I thought you would kill him"

"I mean if it was earlier I would've but I know how much he means to her and how much she means to him. They hung out so much last summer. They were Inseparable. I'm really happy. I sorta hope he makes a move. She talked about him a lot in the past years. like I was shocked they weren't dating...I'm really happy for both of them. he seems to notice things about her that I would never notice"

"As long as you don't kill him"

"I won't"

"Alright good night James"

"Night Remus"

I hugged y/n a little closer to me. I took in her scent before closing my eyes and drifting to sleep.
