Chapter 40: That's My Girl

Y/n pov

"You're on black," I said as I shook regs hand.

"You're going to regret it, potter," he said with a small smirk.

"I think i was taught by the best. I'm not losing this"

"Y/n, let's go. We're gonna be late," Sylvia yelled.

"Coming hold on a minute!" I yelled back.

"See ya out there,"

I ran over to Sylvia, one of my new gryffindor friends. We've been in school for three months now, and the number of letters i have from sirius is crazy but adorable.

"What bet did you make this time?" She asked as I walked over.

"10 galleons," I said. "I haven't lost one yet, and I don't plan to today."

"Well, you better do well because I'm betting on you as well,"

"Ok, so you can't judge me for betting then,"

"I wasn't judging. I was asking."

"Sure, sure."

She rolled her eyes before saying goodbye and walking away.

Sirius pov

The muggle phone in my new apartment rang downstairs. I got up from my chair and went over to it.

"Hi," I said into the phone.

"Did you get the daily prophet yet?!" James yelled excitedly into the phone.

"Hello to you to James and no not yet why."

"You have to come over here and see why."

"Alright, alright, I'll be there soon,"

"Wait, go to my parents house they showed me and Lily and were here now,"

"Ok."

"Hurry"

"I am. I'll be there soon,"

He hung up, and I put the phone back just in time for y/n owl to fly through the open window. She dropped the letter on the counter and went straight to the treats I left out for her. I grabbed the letter and put it in my pocket before grabbing my wand and going through flu to the potters house.

"Oh, sirus, you made it. How's the apartment?" Mrs Potter asked as she pulled me into a hug

"It's great. Thanks for helping me find it. "

"Of course hun. Now come on. James is waiting in the dining room. "

I followed her into the dining room and saw James looking at the daily prophet with a huge smile.

"Hello, sirius," Lily said, pulling me into a hug

"Hi, Lily." I said, hugging her back.

"Sirius, you have to see this. I've never been so proud, " James said.

"What?"

I walked over and looked over his shoulder to see y/n on the front cover. I slid the newspaper closer to me.

"Y/n potter breaks the record of how fast someone has caught the snitch in hogwarts this year. She's even beat her brothers old time who used to be holding the record."

"Holy shit," I muttered with a smile growing on my face. "That's amazing. I mean, she did better than you... that's my girl on the front page. Holy shit. " I quickly grabbed the letter from my pocket.

"What's that?" James asked.

"Letter from her. It got here right after you hung up." I said, opening it.
