Chapter 16

Matt's POV

"Thank you guys for your continuous support you show us, we love you all so much and stay tuned for more exciting things" Nick says to the camera as we wrap up filming for this week's car video.

"Preach" Chris nods and tells the camera a quick "see you guys on Wednesday,"

I grab the camera from it's propped up position and turn it around to face me. I do my usual scream before shutting it off.

"Sometimes I feel like Jake Paul when we film videos" Chris mumbles as I turn the AC back on.

"Don't even say that" Nick replies with a look of disgust.

"Whatever bro let's just go home" Chris says as I put the car in drive. "When we get home I have a topic of discussion I want to bring up with you" he says as he points at me.

"Okay?" I act confused but deep down I know exactly what's coming.

I drive the rest of the way home going over my thoughts and thinking of my responses to Chris' possible questions.

When we get home we all go upstairs and into Chris' room. He writes on the whiteboard on his door "Brotherly meeting do not enter".

I sit down on his couch as him and Nick sit down on his bed. They give each other a look before they begin.

"I'm just going to get straight to the point here" Chris starts.

I take a deep breath before he asks the question I've been dreading to answer since he came in my room the other night when I wasn't feeling well.

"What's going on with you and Scarlett?" He goes dead faced like he's a judge in a court room and I'm about to get a life sentence.

"Give a deep explanation because what the fuck?" Nick throws his hands in the air

"Nothing is going on" I shrug my shoulders, giving a mediocre answer.

"Bullshit" Chris glares at me.

"We see the way you look at her" Nick nods.

"Every since that goof at the beach asked for her number you've been all protective over her" Chris explains as Nick agrees.

He's not wrong, something has changed. I have no clue what though and its scaring the shit out of me. I don't know just seeing that guy look at her the way he did at the beach and then him showing up at the pool took a toll on me. No way Nick and Chris are gonna find that out though.

Once I find out what this is myself then I'll reconsider.

"I just don't want her getting with the wrong guy that's all" I shrug.

"Oh yeah because that's logical" Nick laughs.

"I could tell that Landon guy was the wrong guy" I tell them.

"Then who is the right guy?" Chris asks as the room goes dead silent.

I take a moment to think of my next response.

"Somebody who cares about her and treats her right" I say like it's the obvious answer.

"Do you care?" Nick asks.

"Of corse I care about her she's my best friend" I throw my hands in the air like he's stupid for even asking that.

"Mom already said she's excited for the wedding and she's been planning it ever since Chris introduced her to us" Nick explains.

"You talked to mom about this?" I almost yell.

"Yeah" Chris shrugs his shoulders.

"Oh my fucking god" I put my head in my hands.

"Look Matt, we're on your side. We just want you to know that your feelings are valid" Nick tries to make me feel better.

"What feelings?! I don't have feelings towards her anymore than a friend should" I raise my voice.

"So you do have feelings?" Chris raises his eyebrows.

"No?!"

"That sounded hesitant" Nick laughs.

"Oh my god, get the fuck out I can't even look at you two anymore" I point towards the door.

"We're in my room buddy" Chris laughs at me.

"I'll get the fuck out" I groan.

"Yeah, you do that" Nick mumbles as I rush out the room in rage.

"Jesus Christ" I mutter as I shut my bedroom door behind me.

Absolutely ridiculous.

I know I don't have feelings in that way for her but I have to agree I have felt different ever since she meet that bozo at the beach.

I don't know what it was but just seeing the way he looked at her made me feel like projectile vomiting.

I don't know what this feeling is.

And I don't know how to control it.

But it is there.
