Chapter 29

Matt's POV

I wake up to the smell of burnt toast coming from downstairs. Literally every morning Nick burns a piece of toast and I can't stand it anymore.

I sigh out of relief at the fact that it's a saturday and I don't feel the need to lose my will to live at school.

I roll my eyes getting out of bed as Nick shouts for help over his burnt toast.

If he burns one more piece of toast I'm gonna burn him.

"How do you manage to do this every day?" I ask him as I walk in the kitchen.

"I don't fucking know?! It's in the toaster for 2 seconds and then the toaster is screaming at me because it's fucking burnt" Nick throws his hans in the air out of frustration.

"Toasters don't scream fuck ass" I groan at his stupidity as Chris walks in the kitchen.

"What's with all this ruckus?' He asks the two of us as he sits down on one of the barstools.

"Nick burnt his fucking toast again" I roll my eyes at him.

"Of corse he did, hey Nick get me a pepsi please" Chris grins as Nick groans and grabs a pepsi for him.

"You're disgusting. It's 9 in the morning and you're having a pepsi?" Nick says in disgust as Chris opens the can.

"Don't act like this is a surprise for you Nick" Chris laughs as he downs half the thing.

"Why good morning boys" My mom chirps in a singsong voice as she walks in the kitchen.

"Morning mom" Nick mumbles still disgusted by Chris.

"Hey come sit, I feel like we all haven't talked in a while, catch me up on your lives" She smiles as we all join Chris on the barstools. "Chris you first what new in your life?" She smiles as she folds her hands together.

"Whats new is I'm sick and tired of Nick burning toast and judging me for drinking pepsi" Chris glares at Nick in an almost threatening way. "Other than that nothings new with me".

"Nick?" My mom asks him while also giving him an annoyed glare for burning toast again.

"Literally nothings new with me at all" Nick rolls his eyes.

"Matt what's new with you?"

Silence fills the tense space as Chris tries hard not to spit out his pepsi out of laughter.

"Yeah Matt whats new with you" Nick laughs knowing exactly where this is going.

"Brace yourself mom" Chris warns her.

"Uh..." I begin but can't think about how I want to word this.

"What is it?" My mom awkwardly laughs out of confusion.

"Scarlett and Matt are practically dating" Chris laughs. I glare at him out of disbelief that he just said that.

"Really? Oh that's wonderful" My mom smiles as she claps her hands together.

"We're not dating we're just trying it out because we don't wanna ruin anything" I further explain.

"Trying it out my ass" Chris laughs as I shoot him a 'what the fuck?' glare.

"Have you asked her out on a date yet?" My mom asks which causes me to pause.

"No"

"What?! You can't be trying it out if you haven't asked her on a date yet" She laughs at me.

"I know I know, I want to I just don't know what to do on a date" I shrug.

"Take her to dinner" Nick says in a duh tone.
