The next morning came faster than the couple wanted it to. That was only because they had drunk a little too much the night before. They had gotten home at ten o'clock but they went to sleep closer to one o'clock.
The chime of Jack's phone rang through the room, telling her and Gibbs that it was five o'clock. Jack turned over and grabbed a pillow to cover her ears. "Jack, your alarm," Gibbs says, turning over. Jack groaned and sighed. "Turn it off," Gibbs says, impatiently.
"You do it," Jack says and holds the pillow closer to her ears. "It's your alarm," Gibbs says, raising his voice. "If it's such a problem, you turn it off," Jack says, raising her voice. Gibbs reaches over Jack and grabs her phone. He turns it off and drops it on the bed next to his wife.
"Don't just throw it!" Jack says and sits up. "I didn't throw it, you drama queen. You're so annoying," Gibbs says, rolling his eyes. Jack gets up and starts walking towards the bathroom. "And you're not? This is why I hate you!" Jack says and slams the bathroom door.
The two were in silence until they got into the car to go to NCIS. They both had had a cup of coffee and were feeling better, physically. Jack started to feel guilty. She should have never told Gibbs that she hated him. She far from hated him. She was just frustrated.
She reaches out for Gibbs' hand and he puts his in hers, making Jack smile. "Look, I'm sorry. I should've never said I hated you, I was just frustrated," she says. Gibbs looks over to Jack and back to the road in front of him.
"It's okay. I'm sorry, too. We both said some things we didn't mean. We were hungover and tired," Gibbs says and smiles. "I love you, Cowboy," Jack says. "I love you, too, Jack," Gibbs says.
Gibbs squeezes Jack's hand and she squeezes his. And, like any other day, they start chatting away and laughing. They were so happy to not be fighting.
