Jack and Gibbs walk out of Vance's office and into Jack's. Jack takes a deep breath as Gibbs closes the door. "Thanks for doing that with me. I would've never been able to do it alone," Jack says, looking at Gibbs.
"You're welcome," he says. She walks over to her desk and sits down. "So... Jack, I was wondering..," Gibbs says. "Wondering what?" she asks. "I was wondering if you wanted to go out to dinner with me tonight," he says.
"I'd love to-," Gibbs sighs. "But..," he says. "No but. Just, where do you wanna go?" Jack asks. "It's a surprise," he says. "Seriously?" she asks.
"Yup. You'll just have to wait," he says. "Well, I have a surprise for you too. I guess you'll just have to wait," she says. "Don't think that's my only surprise, Jack. I have plenty more where that came from, for tonight," Gibbs says.
"What?! You didn't tell me that! Can I just get one hint?" Jack asks. "A surprise is a surprise, Jack," he says. "Just one small hint?" she asks. "Jack...," Gibbs says.
"Just a teeny tiny hint?" she asks. "No, Jack. You're not gonna force me to tell you your surprise like you did for your birthday! You're just gonna have to wait and see," Gibbs says. "Fine, Cowboy, if you insist...now get out so I can finish my work!" Jack says and they both chuckle.
"I'll pick you up at seven, okay?" he says. "Eight," she replies. "Why eight?" Gibbs asks. "Well, won't you have to wait and see," she says, cleverly. They both laugh again and Gibbs leaves.
Jack watches Gibbs as he walks down the stairs to the bullpen. She takes out the ring box and opens it. She sighs and smiles. She knew that what she was going to do later that evening was right and perfect. She knew that he was her forever.
