A month had passed since the faithful day known as Valentine's day, and while it didn't get colder, it surely didn't get warmer either. Though, as each day passed, it seemed that mother nature was smiling down on the earth as trees finally began regrowing their leaves and the before-dried-out grass started to gain some color back.

The added splashes of color did well to remind students and teachers alike of the upcoming pause in the school year that was quickly approaching. A well-earned moment of relaxation following the nonstop studying and grading of papers that plagued the school year thus far. Yet before one can reach the joyful occasion, one must struggle through the uphill battle called midterms. For those who studied, it was a measly group of tests that contained mainly review, questions and subjects that they had gone over previously that year, but for a select few, it was hell on earth.

A whole day dedicated to nothing but answering questions, writing essays, and recalling little knowledge tidbits that were locked away in the depths of your brain. Of course, some subjects were easier than others, for instance, Megumi's math teacher only demanded them to answer a twenty-question long assignment, while her English teacher decided that an eight-page essay would suffice as their test like it was the easiest thing in the world.

After straining her brain for seven hours straight, Megumi had finally made it to her last class of the day before she was set free: science. She was lucky enough to share this class with all her friends–though they shared many classes throughout the day–and because it was the last one and it was Megumi's favorite subject, the stress in her body melted away with each question she answered.

With Megumi finishing the test quicker than most, something that off put her at first, but she remained confident in herself and her answers. She had a second to look around the room and see how others were doing.

Yuki, who sat behind her, looked as he normally did during working periods, a slight hunch in his back as he rested both arms on his desk, his right hand flicking his pencil around as he re-read a question that seemed to be troubling him–Megumi predicted it was a chemistry question as those always seemed to confuse him.

Tohru looked just about as lost as a fish in a desert, with her eyebrows creased together and her eraser tapping incessantly on her bottom lip that she chewed on every now and again. Her eyes were scanning over the page from left to right and up to down, probably trying to find a question she can answer easily with her limited knowledge of the subject.

Kyo and Uo looked about the same, each with a determined glint in their eyes as they raced through the questions with what looked like ease, but knowing the two was probably false confidence in hopes of finishing before the other. Megumi wouldn't be shocked if they placed a bet on who would finish before the other.
