Megumi followed Yuki in as he held the door open for her, legs tired from walking all the way home from school. "Thanks," she muttered as she slipped her shoes off, flexing her toes now that they were finally free. "Wh-Whose shoes are t-those?"

The blonde pointed to a pair of simple sandals placed neatly beside Tohru's. She looked over her shoulder at Yuki as he took his own shoes off, raising a pale eyebrow to show her confusion. Shrugging, Yuki hummed, putting his and Megumi's shoes into line with the rest of them. "I'm not sure."

Together, the two walked towards the living room, hearing a loud, shrill voice continue to raise the closer they approached. Megumi and Yuki shared a glance before peeking into the airy room. Sitting at the table opposite Shigure and beside Tohru sat a person with medium-length hair the color of the sun. The hair in front of their ear was pulled back with a large green bow, matching their green yukata with yellow and pink details.

"Oh, Ritsu. What are you doing here?" Yuki asked, making their presence known to those conversing.

Megumi winced, instantly spotting Ritsu sitting before them with a quivering lip. Swiftly, and with years of practiced ease, she side-stepped behind Yuki. Her hands flew to cover both her ears firmly, eyes snapping shut as she waited with bated breath for their impending doom. "R-Ritsu..."

Ritsu's face paled, complexion pale as a ghost as they stared at the two new teens in horror. Their hands flew to cover their mouth, tears glistening in their brown eyes. "You're right! The likes of me shouldn't be here, should I?!" They shrieked, clutching painfully at their hair.

Yuki glimpsed behind him at the scrunched expression covering Megumi's face, pressing a soothing hand to the crown of her head. He turned back to Ritsu, raising his hands placatingly as he attempted to calm the frazzled individual and save everyone's ears. "No, that's not what I meant."

"Ritchan!" Tohru called, confidently pumping her hands.

The action seemed to calm Ritsu momentarily, their fit dying into nothing more than heaving breath as they seemed to contemplate something briefly. Their brown eyes flickered anxiously between the two Sohma children before they composed themself enough to speak with little stutter.

"Hello... Megumi-san, I hardly even saw you there. It's almost like you were hiding. Oh, and Yuki, you look more and more like Aya with each passing day." They cooed, unaware of how poor their choice of words was.

"Have a nice day." Yuki said with finality, grabbing Megumi's hands and making to leave the living room without further notice. Megumi lowered her hands from her head, oblivious to what was even said.

"What? Did I say something wrong?!"

He looked over his shoulder, a cold, uncaring look painting his face in a harsh light. "Not at all." He said, voice flat of emotion.
