Remington
"Fucking hell." I groaned, and let my forehead fall onto Austyn's shoulder, prompting her to throw her head back with a soft laugh.
"Hey Austyn!" Emerson smiled obliviously, completely unaware of what he had just interrupted.
"Hi Emerson." She sighed.
"Jesus Rem," He snapped suddenly as he face me. Great, "Sebastian and I called you like ten times! Did you lose your fucking phone?"
"Sorry," I mumbled frustratedly. My little brother really couldn't take a hint, "it died after I paid for the uber, and I haven't plugged it in yet."
"A text would've been fucking nice," He complained. When he turned back to Austyn -who was now standing next to me- his expression softened, "are you ok? That was so fucked. I'm so sorry."
Emerson wrapped the girl in a tight hug, and rocked the two of them back and forth a couple of times.
"It's over now, and it wasn't your fault so don't beat yourself up over it." She rubbed his back reassuringly before letting him go.
I tended to my hand while they small talked for a couple of minutes but, after that the annoyance had grown.
"Is that all?" I asked harshly.
"What is your problem," I raised my eyebrows, finally clueing him in, "shit, ok. I can just- go call Sebastian and tell him you're not dead. Ok, bye."
"Bye," Austyn giggled. I let out a loud groan after hearing the front door slam, "it's ok."
I looked at her lips. For probably longer than I should've.
"Our tea's probably gotten cold," She smiled. I placed my hands on either side of the counter, pinning her against it, "Rem."
"Fuck the tea," I leaned in, and at the last second she pulled away, "what's wrong?"
"I'm cold." She chuckled. A warm smile hung on my face as I reached around her to grab her cup.
"Let me grab some honey, honey." I smirked.
When I turned around she kicked my behind, causing me to scoff.
"I told you I'd kick your ask." She shrugged.
I rolled my eyes, and took the honey out of the cupboard and poured some in her cup, "Is it hot enough still?"
Austyn nodded, "Thanks. Jesus fuck, when did it get so cold in here?"
"Come on," I grabbed my mug, then held my hand out for her, having it accepted immediately, "let's go watch a movie or some shit. We'll be warmer under the covers."
She picked up her mug, and followed me to my room. As soon as I opened the door, she raced to the bed, and put her cup on my night stand before tucking herself under the covers.
"I'm gonna run to the bathroom," I explained, "what do you want me to put on when I come back?"
"The Office?" Austyn questioned with a smile on her face.
This woman kept getting better, and better. I smiled and nodded my head. My mind was going crazy, and I couldn't stop thinking about earlier. It killed me that I wouldn't get to know what would happen if Emerson wouldn't have barged in. I guess I was glad he walked in before we got too far. I shook my thoughts away as I washed my hands, and headed back into my room, chuckling to myself when I found her to be asleep. She was buried under my comforter, with her head smooshed into one of my pillows. I tucked myself into the spot next to her, with another airy chuckle. My hood was pulled up over her head and, a couple of messy curls hung over her face, that was void of the frown it often held. I wish I could give her the comfort that sleep seemed to. I threw the blankets over me, and soon enough she had pushed herself into my side. I kissed her forehead tenderly, and warranted her to relax into me. My hand reached for the remote, to follow her suggestion to put on 'The Office' even though she wasn't awake to know. My eyes remained in the screen for probably about twenty seconds, until they were focused back on Austyn's features. She had the cutest button nose, and I just knew her lips were soft even though I was yet to meet them with my own. They were the softest shade of pink, and shaped like a flower. Her curls were slightly frizzed from her rubbing them against my hood, and the pillowcase below her but, they were still beautiful. When she leaned into me I could smell her strawberry-rose shampoo, and it made me feel at ease. I didn't know how long we had laid there. It felt like hours. But, when her eyes fluttered open, and mine darted to the tv to try to play off the fact that I had been staring at her, I realized that we'd only gotten through about an episode and a half.
